dicaffe is useless but i dont drink coffee at all i dont get the satisfaction with drinking something bitter and when i did drink coffee i used to put tons of sugar and milk in it and then i could barely call it coffee because it wasnt bitter at all so whats the point of that i stopped drinking coffee because i had no reason to. why does everything must have a point anyway? here i am moving from coffee to points and when i have too many subjects to think about at the same time my mind is getting all confuesed... and then i stop thinking and starts again i hate it when i think about too many things at the same time my mind is getting all confuesed...i said that already didnt i? sometimes i have a thought in my mind and i think the same thought again from some reason and then that thought seems totally stupid. i feel trapped when i think to much and i cant fix my thoughts so i could actually understand what i think because i dont understand what i think ok shut up now dear nameless

it's meant to be bad for you but i always find it so comforting; cold, dry fingers stretched possessively around the warm mug. You can stop thinking then and just think about the coffee. "Is it too hot? Too cold? Too sweet? Too strong?" Simple little problems to distract you from the big ones. Nice.

Six Page GuestCheck by me Sick with situation Sick with Complication Sick with Conversation sick with concentration sick with Contemplation She strings coffee beans on a hemp necklace to be who she is not just who she wants to be Shes enjoying herself for the first time and has no one to apologize to for it a momentary loss of memory As i refrain from punching the glove box the coffee is a steamy swamp black and bubbly in my stomach. i listen to her talking like i'm her ventilation web. I collect it from her and pour it in my coffee and stir it with the syscoware stainless steel spoon. Her talking wavers my sickness and heals the already festering wound, festering for three long days. Burn me black syscoware coffeemug let me feel besides this ache. the way it all turned out Did it have to be this way? If only i had done something different. The piggies huddle close in sandled shoes the active listening steams sugary from half and half infested waters. My sunburn plays mind games with my heart maybe my skin is just plastered with pain she writes letters to people who she'll never send them to records tapes of burned cds of acoustic guitar. Coffee spilled like raindrops down our cups brown and muddy like puddles of pain. coupled with tooth decay and bad breath. we see a couple out the window drunkenly kissing as they walk towards this truck stop A discussion of a public display of affection spawns acknowledgment of two overturned empty coffee cups at a table for four Do you ever wish you could break prople? Make it so they exist no more This mood rises up from my stomach gets caught in my throat blasts all the affection for everything i have as i belittle myself and regret my own value. Recounting all the events of my sickly ill-spent life, wondering how much was marred with deciet.

A friend of mine used to tease me about my coffee addiction. (She doesn't drink it). I used to tell her I didn't think I was addicted, and I thought I could quit if I wanted to. Then one day she was at my place when I was staying home with my bf's two kids (ages 4 and 2). We were out of coffee. I almost died. And the bitch laughed at me.

i used to big on coffee but i've cut back now...in favor of the higher caffiene drinks but there's still nothing like a fresh ground and brewed cup of black coffee to get going with. the bitter taste which is strangely the best thing on earth, a scalding cup of coffee rushing down your throat. what if coffee were illegal? the world would come grinding to halt like a coffee grinder when you turn it off... the world would skid to a standstill, no one would rise to do the drudgery of work. life would end. coffee is the elixir of life

So he pulls his car up to mine as we are in the parking lot doing our drivers ed and he asks me what I'm doing tonight. I tell him that I don't know and wonder what he is implying. Remember this doesn't happen to girls like me. The next time our cars end up next to each other, he asks me if I like coffee. I don't so I told him I like tea instead. The third time, he asks me if I want to go to a coffeeshop with him tonight... and I told him that would be nice but I'd have to see what my mother said... but he isn't sparkingly unique to me. I think I have a magnetic impulse to guys with a variation of the name Jon, only his is with an h "like John the prophet". I had to correct him and tell him that John was a disciple.

Alright, all you baristas out there, I have a recipie for you. This is something my good friend FreakBoi came up with one night he stumbled into my cafe. And he taught me this wonderful drink, which I have called 'The FreakBoi Special'. Simple recipie. . . 1) Get the largest cup you can get your damn hands on. 2) Put four (4) shots of espresso. 3) Give it about two or three healthy shots of vanilla syrup. 4) Fill it up to about three-quarters of the way with regular coffee. 5) Fill it to the brim with cold half-n-half (to cancel out the hotness of the coffees so you can down it in about five seconds). 6) Enjoy! 7) Not sleep for three days. But, I don't do caffiene anymore. . .

Last saturday I stumbled half asleep into the kitchen, fumbling around for the coffee filters. I don't drink coffee, even the gourmet stuff turns my tastebuds inside-out, and not even in the good way that navel orages and Poprocks do. The different flavors never taste different and things like "white chocolate almond" end up tasting like COFFEE. It's a disappointing endeavor and most people treat coffee like fine wine, which to my slight and probably skewed recollection, isn't necessarily a party in your mouth either. But I moved over to the coffee pot anyway, filling the filter with a cheap little packet of decaf that I'd gotten with the pot for free. The coffee dripped, and I was taken back to that day in the appliance store. I had tried to convince myself that as I was standing in the checkout line that I was buying a coffee pot because I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee. It's be like an air freshner or something, putting the 'pot' back in potpouri. Yeh, I felt better, knowing that I was buying a pot and filters for me, not because I hoped to lure one green-eyed, ruffly-haired coffee drinker into my apartment for a freshly brewed cup. In the morning. With breakfast. In bed. I listened to it percolate, closed my eyes, leaned up agaisnt the countertop. Breath in, breath out. Standing there in one blue terrycloth slipper and a white button down shirt -his button down shirt, gawd, it still smelled like him!- I tried to piece together what exactly I'd just done, how any of this actually happened. The coffee dripped. And I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning.

six months after dropping it cold turkey i tasted coffee again in a fit of intoxication. after a night spent drunk and high watching dune til we passed out, the next day a cigar was produced and the coffee made, only to be followed by more alcohol and grass, filling the room with delightful smells and sights. now its part of the daily tradition again. pick your stimulant, running or drinking coffee.. the later ill prepares you for the former, creating the vicious cycle that keeps the trails away...

If I could make a deal with the Devil in the pale moonlight that I could consume nothing but coffee drinks yet I would be skinny as a snake and healthy as a horse... But I could never eat solid food again, no matter how good that curry looked... I'd take it in a heartbeat and be glad I'd done it. Coffee tastes so good. Ten shots of esspresso consumed during the course of an hour acts as a mild halucinogen for me.

Coffee may help protect against liver cancer A cup of joe a day reduces risk of disease, study finds Chris Ammann / AP The Coffee Grinder in Westminster, Md., offers over 50 varieties of coffee beans as seen in this July 21 photo. Researchers in Japan have discovered some eye-opening news about coffee: It may help prevent the most common form of liver cancer. The Associated Press WASHINGTON - That hot cup of coffee may do more than just provide a tasty energy boost. It also may help prevent the most common type of liver cancer. A study of more than 90,000 Japanese found that people who drank coffee daily or nearly every day had half the liver cancer risk of those who never drank coffee. The American Cancer Society estimates that 18,920 new cases of liver cancer were diagnosed in the United States last year and some 14,270 people died of the illness. Causes include hepatitis, cirrhosis, excess alcohol consumption and diseases causing chronic inflammation of the liver. Animal studies have suggested a protective association of coffee with liver cancer, so the research team led by Monami Inoue of the National Cancer Center in Tokyo analyzed a 10-year public health study to determine coffee use by people diagnosed with liver cancer and people who did not have cancer. Decreased risk They found the likely occurrence of liver cancer in people who never or almost never drank coffee was 547.2 cases per 100,000 people over 10 years. But for people who drank coffee daily the risk was 214.6 cases per 100,000, the researchers report in this week’s issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. They found that the protective effect occurred in people who drank one to two cups of coffee a day and increased at three to four cups. They were unable to compare the effect of regular and decaffeinated coffee, however, because decaf is rarely consumed in Japan. It’s the caffeine in coffee that makes some people nervous and it has been shown in other studies to prompt mental alertness in many people. Some studies have suggested caffeine aggravates symptoms of menopause or intensifies the side effects of some antibiotics. Heavy caffeine use has been linked to miscarriage. But studies have also shown that a skin cream spiked with caffeine lowers the risk of skin cancer in mice. “It’s an excellent, interesting and provocative study and their conclusions seem justified,” commented Dr. R. Palmer Beasley of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. “It will provoke a lot of new work here,” said Beasley, who was not part of the research group. Reason for effect unclear While the study found a statistically significant relationship between drinking coffee and having less liver cancer, the authors note that it needs to be repeated in other groups. And the reason for the reduction remains unclear. However, Inoue’s team noted that coffee contains large amounts of antioxidants and several animal studies have indicated those compounds have the potential to inhibit cancer in the liver. In their study, the team also looked at green tea, which contains different antioxidants, and they found no association between drinking the tea and liver cancer rates. “Other unidentified substances may also be responsible” for the reduction in cancers, they said. A separate study reported in the same issue of the journal reported no relationship between drinking caffeinated coffee or tea and the rates of colon or rectal cancer. However, that analysis did find a 52 percent decline in rectal cancer among people who regularly drank two or more cups of decaffeinated coffee. In that study a team led by Karin B. Michels of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston analyzed data from two large studies — the Nurses’ Health Study of women and the Health Professionals’ Follow-up Study involving men. The analysis of nearly 2 million person years found 1,438 cases of colorectal cancer. While they did not find any association between cancer rates and consumption of caffeinated coffee or tea, people who regularly drank two or more cups per day of decaffeinated coffee had about half the incidence of rectal cancer as those who never drank decaf. The rate of rectal cancer was 12 cases per 100,000 person-years among those who consumed two or more cups of decaffeinated coffee per day. For those who never drank decaffeinated coffee, the rate was 19 cases per 100,000 person-years. That difference may, however, be due to differences in lifestyle, the researchers commented, suggesting that drinkers of decaffeinated coffee might be more health conscious overall. The Japanese study was funded by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan. The U.S. study was funded by the National Institutes of Health.

http://www.goodlifeletter.co.uk/news/161-can-coffee-really-save-your-eyesight.asp Can coffee really save your eyesight? 22nd June 2007 Cracking bit of good news on Tuesday... don't know if you saw it... But a new study, reported in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, suggests that drinking coffee can protect your eyesight. Italian researchers looked at the coffee drinking and smoking habits of 166 people with a condition called 'blepharospasm'. This is where you get an uncontrollable spasm in your eyelid. It's not just annoying... it can lead to blindness. Now it's claimed that one or two cups of coffee a day can reduce the risk of this condition. Worth knowing, I think. And there was some more coffee news recently. And it made me chuckle too... Shock revelation from the Journal of Pain! Did you know there was a Journal of Pain? Well, there is. Possibly not a relaxing Sunday morning read, or a beforebedtime thing... but anyway... In January, this journal suggested that drinking coffee could help reduce the pain you get after exercise. Now, as you know, I'm not a big exercise man. I'm a big man, yes... EXERCISE, no. My belief is that we can prevent many diseases, ailments and weight gain by making tiny additions, deletions and tweaks to our daily diet. To help this along, we need to walk more. Move about more often. Take some fresh air. In my view, we all need to keep mentally and physically alert. But this doesn't mean we all have to lock ourselves in a gymn and turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger. I mean, do YOU want to govern California? But I do notice a lot of aches right after I've got back from a bike ride, or a long country walk with the kids. Or shopping with Lara (the worst pain of all!) And perhaps you're the kind of person put off moderate exercise by these aches pains that follow. If so, it's useful to know that the study found that two cups of coffee can cut muscle pain by up to 48%. But researchers at warned this may not be applicable to regular caffeine users. This is because they are less sensitive to its effects. And finally, today, there's a lot of confusion about the relation between coffee and kidney stones... Is coffee good or bad for kidney stones? According to a study in the Journal of Urology in 2004, if you are prone to kidney stones you should cut down on the number of cups of coffee you have each day. The scientists gave a group of people who had a history of kidney stones some caffeine. They tested their urine and found larger levels of calcium, which could raise your chances of getting kidney. In an interview with Reuters, the study's leader, Dr. Linda Massey of Washington State University, said 'those prone to kidney stones should have no more than two cups of coffee a day.' Okay... But other research also suggests that coffee, alcohol and milk are actually GOOD for kidney stones. According to a study reported in Kidney International in 2005, coffee, among other things, could be protective against stone disease. This is because coffee is a diuretic, which means that they dilute urine and increase the amount of times you need to go to the lavatory). Confusion! Confusion! Just shows you that science never really has conclusive answers, as the establishment would have you believe. If this was alternative medicine they're been pointing at it, laughing 'I TOLD YOU IT WAS NONSENSE'. Personally, I drink coffee, but limit it to no more than two small cups, or one large mug every day. Seems the best way to go.

I use to be a coffee thief mom drank coffee quite a bit when I was really young, but rarely would she ever finish her mug so their was usually about a little less then half a mug of coffee sitting about somewhere in the house. As a child when I saw that she was making a coffee I'd keep a discreet eye on her and wait for her to leave her mug unattended, and I'd just let it sit there, 5-10-30 mins to make sure she wasent coming back and had for gotten about it, then when no one was around to witness it I'd drink her coffee, And Victory was MINE! *rolls eyes* yea I know I was ever oh sooo daring *L* but at the time for me the thrill was in knowing I was doing something my parents wouldn't approve of and getting away with it, plus it dident hurt that even though cold (which is how I prefer it to this day) the coffee did actually taste quite good ^.^ Although being a coffee theft rather lost its thrill when a few years later I got cot and mom just shrugged it off, meh didnt have the same appeal any more once she started making me my own cups of coffee =/ But still until then yea was a rather benign bit of "naughty" fun when I was a kid ^.^

why do you take iron? or how do you know you need more of it? I am of the understanding that it is usually bad to take extra iron (even when not eating meat, it's in veggies too) I took it for a while when I was tired all the time too. turned out I was tired from not drinking enough water and eating very little (suddenly when I usually at a lot more). just curious, not demanding answers if you don't care to share. I m never sure what s "too personal" or annoying.
