Last night I stayed awake until 4am, surfing "car porn" on the internet. After two hours of sleep, I felt I should get up, because I wanted to go to work early. I was a bit groggy as I got out of bed. I had a half asleep thought about turning down the thermostat. Next think I know I'm horizontal, startled, and my eyes are closed. Not sure where I am. I think on the floor; it's hard, and cold. I'm near the kitchen door. Sort of a fetal position, on my side. It was all quite shocking and confusing; I lay on the floor for several seconds, eyes closed, trying to piece together how I had got there. At first I wasn't even of anything; had I fallen? where was I? how was my body laying? As it all came into focus I realized what had happened. Apparently, as I stood there pondering the thermostat, I fell back asleep, causing me to collapse onto the floor. As things calmed down, I realized my tongue felt numb. I had bit it rather hard in the fall. I tried to lay down in bed again, but was too shocked to doze off. After a while my tongue switched from numb to sore.
