The word of the future. The word that our generation created. Will we always be remembered for meh?

Meh So many possible meanings for such a small, one syllable word. I love it. More than I love "fwah"

Normally I use complete thoughts, but when I'm really tired "meh" works for me. I use it to convey general exhaustion at having to think. This is my choice of syllable, my friends have been known to use "puh" or "arg" as well. meh

This is the noise you make when someone asks you something and you respond with a shrug. You might not know the answer. You might not like the answer. You might not want to answer. But you probably don't care... This is when you "meh"

best when shouted emphatically out of nowhere in a croded office lobby with the syllable "TIMM-" on the front end of it as in "TIM-MEH!" sorry, ignore that...brief South Park moment...never mind (though i have done that at work just to freak people out)

meh is a something. "meh" means: no thanks, whatever, sounds good, "i have nothing else to say", etc. it all depends, like several other things in life, on the way you say it.

Interesting. and not a little disconcerting to say the least, is the impulse equal to the percieved grievance or offense? Has it been definatively shown that there is a cultural and causal link between the word meh and the internet? If it has please educate me, I don't catch every thing that glides by. ...

Page 217 of Ulysses (Penguin Classics, Annotated Student Edition) contains the following: "Wretched brutes there at the cattlemarket waiting for the poleaxe to split their skulls open. Moo. Poor trembling calves. Meh." Meh. You see? Apparently the poor little cows don't care about their imminent end. There: I have justification for not becoming a vegetarian. But in terms of etymology, the word seems to have been popularized by both the Internet and The Simpsons.
