passion: burns and dies and hurts and feels good like heroin then its gone and youre left mewling on the street begging for more wishing there was some way to get another fix then youre clean and the next time the drug looks you in the eye and says "I love you" you shudder...think...remember the howling and sobbing and puking and you fall again into habit without a second though hopefully you've a lifetime supply

Tout est ma faute... Oui, c'est ma faute... Quelle folie m'aveuglait ? Quel gâchis... Mais qu'ai-je fait ? Quel drame ! Quel drame ! ... Le Perce-Oreilles !

What have I done? What have I done? How could I be so blind? All is lost, where was I? Spoiled all, spoiled all Everything's gone all wrong What have I done? What have I done? Find a deep cave to hide in In a million years they'll find me Only dust and a plaque That reads, 'Here Lies Poor Old Jack" But I never intended all this madness, never And nobody really understood, how could they? That all I ever wanted was to bring them something great Why does nothing ever turn out like it should? Well, what the heck, I went and did my best And, by god, I really tasted something swell And for a moment, why, I even touched the sky And at least I left some stories they can tell, I did And for the first time since I don't remember when I felt just like my old bony self again And I, Jack, the Pumpkin King

Passion is a fire that can burn for the good or the bad. Sometimes on the way to good it hurts the innocent, but in the pursuit of passion the innocent are seen as expendable. Passion is what drove Mark Anthony to Cleopatra. Passion is what drove St Augustine to God. Passion is what drove many Scots to their death. Passion is what birthed Beethoven's 9th.

Without passion, life is dull. Passion doesn't have to be about sex, though it can be. Passion is so much more. People can be passionate abou their work, about travelling, about relationships, about learning, about an abundance of things. I think everyone needs something to be passionate about. I want to be passionate about life. We must choose our passions carefully though. I once met someone who I thought was passionate about life, who soaked in expereinces, who truly lived rather than existed. It is so easy to get caught up in the daily routine of existing. I don't want that to be me.

Passion is exactly like a fire It sparks, it catches it becomes all consuming raging fire til there is nothing left to burn it dies out and smoulders its only traces are faint smoke rising and hurriedly disintergrating into nothingness disexisting like before it existed only unlike before it existed everything is destroyed and takes years to grow and heal again This is passion

Passion is the particle that propagates love from the ether to lust in manifestation. Passion is my body inside her, and it is my eyes within her. (my) Passion is her fingertips upon my skin, and her voice. Faith, trust, belief, doubt, worry, ardor, all are passion. Passion is the particle that propagates hatred from the ether to maliciousness in manifestation.

here is a footprint in the snow. it marks out the life of another, one who passed this way not long ago. the light is reflected differently from it. look how it shines a dull blue, an inviting hue. around are the trees of the world. each upside down, with its roots in the air, struggling just to be. my breathe is one with its. this blue hue seperates me from myself. a void of lights and tears fill the sky, fill my perception. one crossed this trail not long ago, seeking her way into the heart of this world. her energies shine a tinted green and red. niether one nor the other, so beautifully moulded. here is the seed of life, of passion, resting in the snow. unsustained by reason, untouched by logic it is pure and free, without limits like existance it merely is. forgive me if i depart into it, but remember always that it is into you i go.

Red is such a pretty color... I have been so numb and so restless. I want an adventure. I want something passionate and crazy insane- I want to feel so much that I spontaneously combust. I'd become a smokeless flame that finds empty human hearts and sets them burning and blazing from passion and heat. Sweat and blood would pour and bubble and boil within me. From licking tongues and kissing wet lips -saliva would turn to steam that curls off my skin. Open wounds that feel no pain bleed, and the red fuels the fire that I am. Sweat seeps and beads from pleasure and drips to the lips of a lover. I am the heat and the fire. I am the sauna. Sweat and spit bleed and breathe inside of me. Let me ignite your skin- let your blood boil with mine- be fire with me, and I swear, we will never turn to ash.

Passion is what i feel ever time i drag that knife across my bare flesh. Passion is what draws me to pick up that knife once again. Passion is what dragged me down into this deep dark hole in which i exist. Passion is what i lived for when i was with her. Passion is what i felt when she broke up with me. Passion is what i felt when i took that knife and stabbed her right through the heart to watch her bleed. To see that i wont help her. To see that i still love her. To see that i still want her. Then, to wake up again. Passion is what i feel towards her.

the wind as it flies past the sun when it drops o'er the edge the sweet sweet music of singing frogs and chirping birds of grass whispering in your ears and dandelions poking defiantly up this is my passion to look wide and far to see nothing but life... wonderous. magical even. the way hawks dance above the clouds and dozens of crickets hop around how deer munch quietly and busy bee's buzz fills me with more passion than all of your kisses. for they were bittersweet, knowing they were finite, but this... this place is everlasting and to feel that in every rock, tree and bird is simply overwhelming and i love it. it is, my passion.

the other day (i did this out of boredom) i went to the mall and did a survey. i said iw as doing it for a physcology class, which was bullshit. anyway, i asked people to name their passion in life. i asked everyone. kids, teens, adults, and the old people. my results were disturbing. almost 70% of people could NOT name their passion. they didnt have one. how fucked up is that. no goals in life. no path in life. nothing to strive for, nothing to live for, nothing to do when you're bored. as for me, i can name my passion in a second. am i such a minority because i have a direction and an interest and a reason to live? am i a minority because i have a reason to live? do you have a passion?

some would argue that no one can ever think /enough/ (the fastest computer will always have its hesitations!) *** everyone has (a) passion(s); but most (70% sounds about what i see, perhaps even up to 80 or 87.357%) people have resigned themselves to caring what others think about them in bizarre ways i have seen people who paint fabulously but then someone says, 'oh i've seen that done before' (everything, even mimicry, is novel) and they withdraw into themselves and stop painting. would they paint well? sure. could they acquire a passion for it? certainly. do they? often, no. snootiness and arrogance have backed a lot of people into caves. they cease to cultivate their passions because so-and-so might disapprove. this seems to be true of love-passions too, whereby someone rejects their own love for someone to appease another. and money has made it worse; people will turn away from things that bring them great feelings (joy, or whatever) because in the long run it might not make them money, or the 'cool' people might not like them. how absurd! IF the options are a) being a 'cool' person whose only source of joy is staying within the decencies (or indecencies) of those around them, thus remaining on par with whatever is set in front of them; or b) being an 'uncool' person who goes their own route unto greater things THEN certainly most humans are suited to 'b' but believe the only value is in 'a' which is not necessarily the case of course, some people's passion is to fit in with the others and that is their route, i suppose; but why take such chains upon oneself if one doesn't want them? better a bone and liberty than plenty and a chain, sayeth Aesop, and i am inclined to agree rare is the passion that thrives in chains (the exception being B&D parlors, of course) but most people aren't even aware they are wearing chains in the first place! they are convinced that they are mediocre and talentless. take a look at any forest filled with woodland creatures, or a sea with its fish; in the 'primitive' world creatures simply follow their passions. they do this, and not much more. and they are content. squirrels don't go on rampages and attack ants unto annihlation; giraffes don't try and live in the ocean out of a desire to fit in with those swanky whales; flamingos don't stop eating crawfish despite an aversion in the bird kingdom to the color pink (it is thought that the flamingo's color has gradually been affected by its choice of cuisine). in nature rape is almost non-existent. granted there aren't many all night orgies, either. amongst human rapists, one seldom hears of [he] who freely expressed [his] passions throughout life, loved and was loved, and suddenly turned violent. there is almost always repression. and indeed, as a creator myself, i have observed that the most hostile opinions to my friends, my foes-not that i really have any 'foes' but we all have preferences-, and myself almost always come from those whom have created little or nothing; OR those who create only for the purpose of making money and/or becoming famous, neither of which is a very good reason for creating something (think of how ridiculously futile it would be to bear a child with the intent of getting rich/famous off of it. what a foolish gamble!) so, in conclusion, follow your passion. you'll be ok. in fact you will be great. you will be great because you will be yourself, and you will become a greater version of yourself. it is perhaps one of the few ways to actually do this. it doesn't matter what your passion is: art, sport, mystic, culinary, massage, dance, gargling, meditating, sword-swallowing; you aren't going to perfect it ever because the point is not to perfect it, the point is to chase the infinities of it. but then, i can't tell you what to do. go on doubting yourself. eventually you'll realize you are an entity of magnificence and grandeur (but avoid conceit; everyone and everything else is, too.) whew!

a mechanism to repress or not give undue consideration to the desire of the moment is necessary in an animal who survives by strategic and often long-term strategies. passion is not some pure thing opposed to the mincings of rational cost-benefit analysis. rather, passion is a large part of the equation. most people would not work themselves into early graves if they did not possess some passion for either the work itself or the result of the work. what freud coined repression could also be viewed as an activity with delayed rather than instantaneous benefit. a deferral to the memory and attainment of a greater if not as immediate pleasure. either way, our passion includes such considerations. and i'm sure primates and other animals with an analagous psychology do similar things. that said, a passion for money and popularity rather than personal amazement would seem to me a misguided one. but some people would do anything to be safe and loved. if their passion for those twin angels sometimes denies them other passions, can we say that they are wholly lying to themselves? rather we must say that their passions often pull them like politicians cross-aisled into war, but that the result is always what their passions dictated. this is the result when we see the distinction between passion and reason is a false dichotomy.

***********PART ONE************** to you, myriad moods, I am sure that is true to me, andru235, my passion is quite alive i am sure to a christian the passion of christ is very neat-o but to i, an infinitorialist, it is banal, trite, and mildly arrogant everything: it_all_exists be your own savior creators don't create merely to enslave their creations; i know this because i am both a creator and a creation myself this is not conceit; there are millions (perhaps billions) of humans on this planet who are creators - pretending not to be one would be false modesty in fact i would venture that most of the regular posters on this site are, to various degrees, creators themselves (whether they consider themselves so or not is irrelevant) to denounce the passion of the world's myriad creators as 'moot' in comparison to the passion of a man whose historical existence cannot be proven, whom was succeeded by a religion prone to the same human follies as all other religions but thinking itself exempt; such a denunciation is the pronouncement of one trapped in frustration of some sort and hey, that's ok: we're humans, and we get frustrated but infinity doesn't cease to exist just because one doesn't like it or does not allow oneself to conceive of it to do so is a mistake which only oneself will pay for; mercy cometh in that one will never know the price paid, and justice will be served in that one will always, forever and ever, have an opporunity to transcend the prison of one's own making fear not, but don't spread fear around, it is a boomerang and will come back to you, and you only i have written this with PASSION!

***********PART TWO************* on the attempts by the passionless to quell the passions of others THE FOX WITHOUT A TAIL A fox was caught by his tail in a trap, and was glad enough to lose his tail in order to get away. But when he got back to his forest neighborhood, he began to worry what his neighbors would say to him. To make the best of a bad matter, he called a meeting of all the foxes, and when they were gathered around he spoke as follows: "My friends, you have no idea how wonderful it is to have no tail. I would not have believed it if I hadn't tried it first myself. I feel *so* light, I can run so fast, that I am quite proud of myself. And of course a bid tail is such an ugly and inconvenient thing! I wonder that we foxes have put up with such things so long! I therefore propose, that from this day forward, all foxes cut off their tails!" There was some willingness to follow this plan, until an old wily fox came forward. "I wonder," said the old fox, "why you never thought of cutting off our tails before you lost your own?" (think twice when a beggar tells you to throw away your gold) --From Aesop's Fables [for the analogously challenged, substitute 'passion' for 'tail']

why must things be so unfair? all this wasted life, so much wasted energy. And now an endless stream of tears that I just can't fight anymore. 2 and a half months of fighting and I've come to the end of my tether. My body has given into the convulsing waterfall within.

passion's momentum can very easily carry it over the fine line that separates it from obsession and madness especially when all the right buttons have been pressed

I can feel that spark. Deep down. It has driven me over the years, thru all these twists and turns. Changing and evolving itself into bigger and brighter ideas, beliefs, Expectations. Freeing me from the ruts that keep me still. I can see it in your eyes, when you speak of all the beautiful things. Seeing that spark in another person, drives me harder, searching for more. Can it be? Can it be that sharing such a thing as passion could change everything? The matches will light the fuse. Then we'll see if it's gasoline or fireworks.

^ a constant struggle for me. it seems the people i'm most passionate about; even if they're nice, well-meaning people with good hearts; are not the safest bets. whereas, the ones i'm less passionate about have pretty consistently proven themselves to be good and trustworthy partners for life. i hear it's possible to have both. i guess we'll see.
