jem i tend to wonder if hell and heaven exist, which would be more fun. living with god in heaven where you cant do anything because you're "good" or living in hell with, most likely, everyone else and able to do whatever you want because its hell and it doesnt matter.
if i believed in either i would be torn.
i was raised catholic and maybe im just being a teenager rebelling against what is supposed to define me, or just simply growing out of my simple childhood lessons (brainwashing) of this and that.
i tend to wonder if there is ever an answer to that question, no matter what the age of the individual. rebellion or evolution.

mikey like all things theres good and bad. some good religions maybe are true and pure. some arent. catholic religion is fake. it was created to control people. and being the sheep humans are...people stayed with it. sad but true. though as i said to start...it has helped many and given some a consistancy in life. to each his or her own. 010311

Mr. Wonderful Like i said in the Catholic blather, there has to be god, which one is it? i have no clue. Either way, i feel that since there is historical evidence in christianity, judaism, and the islamic faith, that one should be true. the bible states many events that actually happened like the ceasers of rome, the censuses, and all the other stuff, it is just where the 3 divide, is jesus, the jews thought he wasn't son of god, christians did, the islamic people thought he was a prophet, and mohammad was the last of these prophets. they all share the same god, and all say they are right. i am not smart or ne thing this is what i have read/heard, and i am sure some is wrong, but i could ramble on for hours about how evolution and the way we think earth was formed can tie in with christianity but no one wants to hear that 010311

MexPanther a way to supposedly escape "damnation", it keeps you in costant belief that the purpose of life is to devote yourself to god, and therefore, it wastes your life by depriving you of the joys you can receive from life, because his commandments keep you from doing the things that can give you different perspectives in life 010325

yummychuckle oh could be so very controversial
dunno what happened before my blather cus i'm too lazy to rad the whole thing.
but...christianity...so far has proven to hate me. so I'm not really up for all of that...
and i have this thing where if u cant entirely devote yoiurself to the religion and do everything correctly and be a perfect person according to the rules of that religion...don't do/be it.
this religion confuses me much to much for me to be involved.
wicca sounds a hell of a lot better for me.
and any religion that is positive--go that religion! cus there is nothin wrong with people following their own path. if it makes them happy, if it gives them faith, then awesome. everyone has their own thang.
happy happy happy

ahhh life is wonderful (you may want to remember me saying this so you can bear with me when i say the exact opposite some day in the future, and know that I'm not like that all the time...)

Sol I am vehemently opposed to any 'religeon' that states that someone is morally and spiritually superior to you because they went to theological college. Any group that tells you what to believe without allowing any space for personal spiritual experience and growth. Any groups that state another is wrong because of what they believe, unless those beliefs cause pain and suffering. Any groups that believes thamselves to be created in the image of an all powerfull being, any group that creates a divine being that is of one racial type, when accorf#ding to their scriptures 'he' is of another. Any religeous group that attempts to surpress the feeling that everyone feels, and the need to question and think for oneself, and then condemns those who are seen as inhuman, those who judge others as evil and corrupt, for doing as their own forebears have done, one who condemns violence and yet has a religion based upon pain war and suffering. any religeon that prompts its followers to be 'godfearing' while claiming that 'god' is kind and loving.
Any religeon that closes off its indiscretions and those of its leaders. Any religion that divides itself, each division calling itself 'the true faith' and attacking the others for being untrue, any religion that stifles life, and claims to worship it

Byrnes yes, but christianity isn't one group. There's a whole lotta differences between different christians. Not all Christians are full of hate and want to oppress you. The people that are like that want to hate and oppress you because they're assholes, their religion is an excuse. As a theological doctrine i think Christianity is pretty good. Christianity is "being Christ-like". Anyone who has actually read about Christ knows that he was a pretty cool guy. The problem is that too many christians pretend to have read the bible, when they miss out on the most important part, "Love thy neighbor". Any religion with that as its highest command can't be all that bad. Christianity is awesome, but a lot of "Christians" suck. Not all "Christians" know about "Christianity".

Christianity loves everyone, regardless of their sexual preference. Christianity was formed by a Jew. Christianity does not damn people to hell for sinning.

Too many "christians" hate people who are different, and blame it on a misinterpetation of a bible verse.

I hope that clears it up a little for ya'll. The predjeduced ignorent oaf telling you that you will go to hell is NOT Christianity.

The Truth Right on Byrnes!! That's the Truth!

Another good point is this:

Those "Christians" who are hate-filled and oppressive are also the ones with the biggest mouths. Those are the ones who want to speak out against "you rotten sinners" at public events. They are the ones doing it for their own need for attention, not because they love you.

I think people judge the entire "religion" (if you can call it that) based on those ignorant people. The saddest part is, many people take the stance against True Christianity based on their disapproval of those pretending to be Christians. I know so many people who say they are Atheists, and when I try to discuss it with them, and listen to their viewpoints, they know nothing about it!! I always find out that they claim to be "atheists" because they were either forced to go to church while young, or they "don't want to be one of those people who go door to door"...(no joke!), or basically "just don't like" christianity.

So we can all let out a sigh of frustration knowing that in every different belief structure, we'll have both intelligent and ignorant people. So we should truly find out what our belief is really all about before committing to it. In this way, we all do our part to diminish ignorance!

Dafremen I have no problem with Christianity. I DO take issue with what Christianity (in general) has done to the message of Jesus(which was indeed a good one).

Jesus stated MANY times what his purpose was, it was to glorify something greater than himself. It was to serve as an example for others to follow. It was to refocus people's attention on what was REALLY important.

Somewhere along the way you folx turned him into a sacrifical lamb. Well figuratively speaking, that may be what happened, but realistically speaking the terms blood ransom and perfect sacrifice never came out of Jesus' mouth.

Jesus did not want to be a God. Christianity made him one.

Byrnes you know, the more i think about, the more i realize that Christians can pretty much believe in whatever they want to. I know Christians that believe in one GoD, and the Jesus was/is the high prophet, Christians who believe in three Gods, and Christians who believe in milllions of Gods (the saints and mary and all that). I'm going to a mission trip this week, and ther'll be all sorts of Christians there because it's non-denominational. I'm a little worried because i don't like the kind of Christians who can't understand other religions and want to kill any differences. There tends to be a lot of those there. 010622
