jusslissen2me A terrorist. Used to be an ally of USA about 15 years ago. But when we insisted interfeering in one of his battles, he decided that he HATE Americans. Ever since then he was destined to attack us or get his revenge of nothing. USA prevented mulitple attacks, that follow the Persian Gulf War and several more between '93-'97. He planned a millenium attack for the turn of the 21st century. It was stopped. Now after this September 11th attack. The Al Qaeda and other Taliban members are still planning to attack more American monuments. Such as Mount Rushmore, the Washington Momument, Statue of Liberty, the White House and more.

"What will be done about this man?"
"Can he be stopped?" and "If he's dies, will that be the end of terrorism in this country or the world?"- who knows.

There are no other countries that care about USA enough to fight side by side against this guy. I think USA have met their match when it come to Osama and Husseine.

On a serious tip to who ever read this? What move do you think he will make next?

jusslissen2me You are all right. But if i am correct, he earned their trust in many ways. He told them that they will be sent to a greater power so most of them did it because of their beliefs. Some did it because he promised that he would take care of their families if they did this. Being from a 3rd world country, they's fall for it easily. I mean think about it. The worst thing about it, they'd prolly only be gettin $10 dollars. Its just ludacris how all this happens. I often ask myself, would i fly a plane into a building for $1 million dollars? Or because some man promises that after i die my family will be taken care of? How would i know that he would live up to his half of the deal? THen again what religion promises a better after life if you take your own? Living as Americans here in the U.S. we find most of this farfetched. 020803

burden the whole idea of a 'war on terrorism' is an absolute joke, as if one example of the United States' will being carried out - in this case, doing something about bin Laden - will convince the rest of the world to stop doing terroristic stuff. and what the hell is up with the US pointing the finger? the country that seems to think it's the fucking morality paragon, the 'leader of the free world'. give me a break. internal terrorism - white supremacy movements and such - are, to me, just as scary, if not scarier because it's in my backyard. seriously, they have some screwed agendas, plans of which the wacko right-wing bureaucracy is totally aware but feels content to pooh-pooh away for now and, perhaps, forever. liberalism tries to solve problems. conservatism tries to find out who started the problems in the first place so the person/people can be publicly vilified. justice? nah, it's nasty; it's a base appeal. for all too many people, seeing someone else suffer in return for someone else's suffering suffices. this is seriously glundy. but I surely do hope we kick them damn A-rabs back to the hellhole they done come from. 020804
...
IIXII Depending on the rhetoric you use, I guess you can characterize Bin Laden's deeds as "accomplishments," but why would you want to? 020804
...
jusslissen2me We arent saying he's "accomplished" things in a good way. Look at the logics, if you do or arrange something to take place and things goes as planned then that's success. So much success becomes accomplishments. That's all. 020805

dB My sympathies go out to those who died.

BUT, good on you Osama for making the americans blink for a bit. Except now they are running around looking for vengence.
Put Bush in a room with Osama, now what do you think will happen? Of course Bush would get his ass kicked, but nobody would expect him to get his ass kicked.
America has it's big army and lots of guns, but the crunch comes when you've got nothing. Osama knows about having nothing, Bush is a corrupt business man.
It's nice to jump up and down and scream for blood, while you are bombing civilians by remote control. But that's not vengence, that's madness.
I know the WTC thing was bad, certainly. But I also know that the US has done far worse things to other countries, and continues to do so.

That is all.
020805
...
flag burning bird (yeah - ive done that too) dB, Osama knows shit about having nothing. If he has endured hardships it is because he chose to.

he's the son of a contruction billionaire. outside of what he took with him when he disassociated himself from his family, he amassed his own personal fortune again

He's a rich brat carrying out an agenda based solely on a will to power. No different from the Shrub if you ask me, except maybe smarter and more deterministic

If he was the righteous man he would lead the world to believe shouldn't he have found more altruistic uses for that fortune

This country was hijacked by corporate interests long before Osama and his army of martyrs decided to pour gasoline on the fire.

I know this country hnas been guilty of some awful shit, only a fool would deny that. But knowing what the powers that be here are capable of, "making america blink" was just an open invitation to the death and destruction of more innocents...yeah, that's righteous.

It's all self-aggrandizement, there's no nobility in it, he, like the generals and politicians here, sends other people to do the dying for him, he writes his histories in blood and he builds himself a pedestal on the bones of the dead

The guy is another wanna-be emperor, just like the interests he claims to despise. One way or the other it's just some dogmatic asshole who want's to shove their ideal for living down everyone's throats

Either the illusion of democracy as it exists under corporate boot-heels or some insane theocracy based on a subverted version of Islam

Neither is a choice I like, but i'm a lot less prepared to live under some warped interpretation of Shariyat law.

but i take it that because i live here, even though i voted against the Vegetable and his father, even though i do my part whenever and wherever i can to NOT be the kind of american that other people want to blow up...none of that matters, just as long as someone out there "made america blink"

Look at history, whomever holds the power in this world invariably abuses it. If it wasn't America it might be Britain, or Spain or The Reich (Germany), it might be the Byzantines, the Romans, the Ottoman empire, Genghis Khan, Attila the hun, whomever, whenever, whatever

All i see in Osama bin laden, since he was originally trained by americans and funded and armed by them too...is one more american asshole with an axe to grind

but after all, it's all good, it's all ok...because he "made america blink", and that's all that really matters, right?

i mostly think you rock, dB, but i think you were really blowing it out your ass on that one, man. sorry.
020805
...
dB I know man.
So what is the question then? What does this world need to stop people getting into power with all the ideals in the world, then trying to blow shit up?

The key point is that anyone who believes that they are right and the world is wrong has to fight to make that point. What happened to intellectual debate?

Also consider the we need the mid east for the oil. The mid east needs us for...
Well, we'd like to think that we could do something for womens rights in places like pakistan. But then there is that whole 'respecting other peoples beliefs' stuff.
Then again it wasn't that long ago since the witch burnings (if it's not still happening to some degree).

Everyone screws up. What kind of leadsers do we need to not screw up?
Maybe the idea of a humble leader is good (maybe someone like Moby or something), but when they get to power they are no longer humble.

Maybe we should become an agrerian species living in small villages of no more than 40 or so.

jusslissen2me I think everything Bin Laden is doing is wrong. And most of what America is doing is wrong too. But if you ask me, both sides will lose. In the Bible the book of revelations will tell you that in the last days Kindoms will fight against Kingdoms and Churches against Churches. Religions against religions. It also says that there will be a day that not even a kid will be safe in a public place. This is just one big holy war. If not, then why is America tripping over the words "In God we trust" on all our money. Or why the pledge of allegiance is unconstitutional?

This is the Holy War spoken in the Bible. No matter what you say about speaking polotical but somehow at the end you will be talking religion. People are will to die daily because of what they beleive in. You really can't blame Osama. Not to mention most of America's enemies/terrorists were trained by their own. And I "know" America will fall. Americans are too big headed to see what's ahead of them. We are too worried about making political statements and making the next page in a history book. When it's all said and done America will not be on the map. Of all wars ever fought, the fall of America will be the worst. This country will be underwater when all this is done, if not it will be defeated and left alone to just rot like it should...look at a map in the Bible show me where USA is shown and I will stand corrected...

No word is stronger than the "WORD".
Amen.
020805
...
IIXII So we're in the "End Times"? Kingdoms have ALWAYS fought against kingdoms, and churches have ALWAYS fought against churches, so we're really not any closer to the Apocalypse since September 11th. And we "can't blame" Bin Laden? Why not? If you believe in a literal interpretation of Revelations, why don't you condemn Bin Laden based on his opposing religious views?

There are all sorts of ways we can justify disliking Bin Laden, since we're all English-speaking Westerners, and he'd like to see us all dead. For most people, that would be enough.

Anyway, Bin Laden doesn't deserve any recognition for what he's done. In order to say that he's "accomplished" anything at all, you have to qualify the word in such a way that it practically loses all meaning. In other words, ANYTHING that anyone does could be an accomplishment. This way, sitting on a couch, stealing from a collection plate, or killing 3000 people could all be characterized as "accomplishments." But these things aren't typically thought of as such.

nihilist bird Sorry if i got a little too worked up there, dB, but i just couldn't abide by a rationalization that managed any context in which to condone crashing a string of passenger jets full of people.

i mean it almost sounds as if you are suggesting that the depth of one's convictions justifies whatever extreme actions one takes to make a point.

Human nature is far too twisted, try though we may to convince ourselves otherwise, we are still just really nasty apes. We are evolution's greatest mistake.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, we've already fucked it up enough, i say we let the roaches have their turn since they've been waiting 450 million years anyway.

okay, i'm all out now.
020806
...
dB It's cool Bird.
I don't condone any action that involves the harm of anyone. Though this isn't the apocolypse it is another distraction, and there are far too many distractions.
Eventually an asteroid is going to hit the planet, or the whole thing will be so polluted that nobody could live here (except the roaches who are being suspiciously quiet at the moment). These are facts that face everyone, regardless of their belief. I feel that our efforts as a species should go into protecting each other. Working out solutions to these events is paramount, but we keep distracting ourselves.

It'll be our downfall.
020806
...
jusslissen2me Hey dB, I agree with you. I also feel that even after the asteroid(if it ever happes), or the over pollution of earth or even the shortage of natural resouces isnt gonna whipe us out. In the end there will be a big flood. What I am trying to imply is that we will suffer before we are taken...these mere distractions are warning signs. 020806
...
jusslissen2me Another thing. I wanna know all you guy's opinion on this. If we were to capture Bin Laden, what would America do with him? I mean, we cant kill him just like that because some feel that is injustice, we can't torture him and if we do kill him how is that a payback for the many lives he took. Think about it, one for about four thousand? What punishment, if any, would he desrve. 020806

What Kerry said "As I have said for two years now, when Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda were cornered in the mountains of Tora Bora, it was wrong to outsource the job of capturing them to Afghan warlords," Kerry said Saturday.
"It was wrong to divert our forces from Afghanistan so we could rush to war with Iraq without a plan to win the peace."

* Dollars_and_cents *

"Every dollar of al Qaeda defeated a million [U.S.] dollars . . . besides the loss of a huge number of jobs.

"As for the size of the economic deficit, it has reached record, astronomical numbers estimated to total more than a trillion dollars. Even more dangerous and bitter for America is that the mujaheddin recently forced Bush to resort to emergency funds to continue the fight in Afghanistan and Iraq, which is evidence of the success of the bleed-until-bankruptcy plan."
