i played moby at one of my clown shows, it was during the part of a story i was doing, called the Queen's Birthday, and in the story the king is having a surprise party for the queen where he chooses singers, joke tellers, and dancers. to pick the dancers i put on the first song from moby play. it was classic. all the kids were clapping along and shouting, "sometimes" right along with the song.

MoBy is pure, spiritual, and I simply idolize his artistic nature. He's overly creative and I LOVE all depths of his mind.

Once, when this really odd girl that asks too many questions found out I was a jazz musician, she asked if I liked Moby. I had no choice but to respond with a big fat verbal question mark. What the hell was she thinking about?

Skinny White Bald Guy. Soul of a long dead bluesman. Fingers like lightening voice like thunder rolling in my heart and across my soul. A shining spirit in a see of darkness obscured by mirrorballs and spinning egos. Pray to a God that rewards you with melody and a devil that ushers fame in the form of non stop touring and a tired existence living only to live within the music. Do his lips taste like the bitter truth?

i guess my point was that the narrator of a different book, says Call me Jonah. he says Call me Jonah. My parents did, or nearly did. They called me John.

i went through a Kurt V. phase long time ago, liked him very much, but after awhile all of his books seemed the same...i read the one you spoke of but don't recall much except its weirdness and entertaining value.

Just started listening to Play again after leaving it for a couple of months. It certainly stands the test of time. This album is out there on it's own amongst all the other great albums that you can't compare to each other because they are great for so many reasons.

His entire Play album is enough to make you float off to some faraway land in your head. I listen to the album whenever I just want to get up and groove and then mellow out. My favorite songs are Honey, Why Does My Heart Feel So bad?, Porcelain, Bodyrock, Natural Blues, Southside (both with and without Gwen Stefani who also rocks and No Doubt rocks too!), Machete, Inside, and My Weakness. Then again I love all his work dearly. Not only is he an original musician, he also has ethics and his essays reveal his empathy towards other creatures. (See the pamphlet on the Play CD.) I can't wait for his next album!

My internet radio station just played his song twice in a row! That NEVER happens. I love it. It's "Run On", from the Play album. Maybe it's a sign, that you might run on for a long time run on, ducking and dodging run on, children, for a long time let me tell you God Almighty gonna cut you down oh shit!

i'd heard him before but never thought much of him, nothing especially distinguishing about him. i did love south side, but that was mostly because at that time i adored gwen stefani. then, this summer, at 7:30 on a lovely sunny morning when we had been up since 6, i heard his album 'play' for the first time. we were driving from leominster back to rhode island on the last day of camp, all 13 of us in a van, sleepy and lethargic. Robin refused to play Metallica this early, though we all begged. so he put on moby instead. and suddenly, it was just what i needed.
