well that was a bit rude. i wasn't saying that musicians generally only like the type of music they themelves create...that's preposterous...i just think it's strange that rancid, a band with seemingly no influence of or connection to the pixies, went on and on about them like that. i didn't say it was bad, either. in fact i thought it was neat. so there. i just thought it was surprising. and i thought i liked you after i saw your sebadoh entry. now i know you are just one of those jumping-to-conclusions-type of assholes.

there's plenty of reason for them to like them...that's not the point. all i initially said was that it seemed odd to me that they did, considering that what i've known of their other musical tastes (from tim armstrong's label hellcat and from their other choices on 120 minutes)are strikingly different from the pixies. no, there is nothing wrong with that. no, i dont think people should just like a few styles of music. but, let's face it, most people do! anyway...i'm sorry i called you an asshole and judged you, making myself look like an idiot in the process. i'm having a shit day and i didn't mean it.

Babe, I've seen the Pixies live three times in the past year. Left me simply and utterly awestruck. Ordinary people making the most magnificent noises on Earth. After the
5/27 show a roadie came out and remembered me from the chicago show last Nov. and tossed Dave's setlist to me. It's now framed and hanging next to my other concert tickets.
I adore the Pixies more than any band I've ever listened to because the Pixies' are the only band that could express my life through their lyrics.
