where do i come on the blather ladder? well, [whoever] has been here longer than me, so they deserve more respect, cos blather is more theirs than mine, but ive been here longer than [someone else] so i can feel taller and better than them.
i went to a goth nightclub the other day, back for the first time in years and sab is dressed in big pinstripe pants, ripped velvet skirt held together with safteypins, a red singlet and one of those things i never know the name of a bra-but-covers-your-belly-too-and-goes-down-and-ends-in-garters and there was this couple both completly covered in pvc and perfectly whitefaced and made up excitely talking to our theatre producer and the girl sized me up and down and decided i was beneath her highnesses gothic notice and stood in front of me, effectivly closing me out of the circle. and i nearly fell over laughing then wandered off. a few days later they came to the play and she was all over me, suddenly realising that i have a funkarsed job and im very good at it.
thats the attitude im talking about here. the im-gother-than-you-i-wear-more-pvc/ im-a-better-blather-than-you,-ive-been-here-longer.
dont tell me each and every one of you dont get a little thrill when you find out that you have been blathering longer than someone you admire.
it doesnt matter how long youve been here. everyone had to start sometime.
its what you have to say thats important.
not how long you have been saying it for.

i have many and varied soapboxes all trailing behind me like cans on a wedding car and i am happy to leap upon as many as i can as the mood takes me.
i see this particular attitude around me everywhere and it shits me and even if squint didnt start it off for that reason thats where it is for me at least.
