2 + 3 = 5. The Law of Fives states simply that: All things happen in fives, or are divisible by or are multiples of five, or are somehow directly or indirectly appropriate to 5. Hail Eris!

Where is RAW when you need him? I stopped looking out for 23s years ago b/c they are freaking everywhere. From the bottom of a beer mug, to Bob Newhart's apartment # (he and Emil.y lived in 523. Great team sports players tend to gravitate to #23, Michael Jordon being the best example. Torte Elvis read Moby Dick 23 times (and told Charlie that he "still don't understand it.") One of the points of the "23 excersise" is a self brainwash type-o-thing. This however doesn't hold water b/c there really is "something" about #23 (and of course 5; if not more so.) Prove it to yourself and try noticing 12s or 37s or some other number. Then you WILL know. I don't know why or how, but 23(and 5) is THEIR number. Co-opting it is therefore an admirable undertaking. I am reminded of a Firesign Theater record... "OK, these 2 cretons are playing 3D chess; they play 5 games and they each win the same number of games; how'd they do it?" "That;s easy, they weren't playing each other." "That's good; but it ain't right..." "I gotta go" "What's a matter, 2, 3, 5, there GREAT!!"

I was thinking just today that 23 sounds like a nice age to be - comfortably far away from the horrors of adolescence yet still a good distance from 30... you still (hopefully, probably, statistically) have an infinite (well, close enough, it seems) amount of time to live... got the role of adult to smell good, worn in but not shabby, like shoes that you've gotten used to but still have lots of wear left Lots of potential... But maybe I'm wrong, and 23 really, really sucks. *shrug*
