it's the new year out with the old in with the ne how do we decide what stays & what goes? will we rid of all our cruelty & inhumanities to take in kindness & understanding for all? or will we throw out what compassion is left & welcome even more atrocities to turn & change our world to an even bigger mess than it was last year? copyright 2000

as soon as 1999 had passed my world was new again the old is gone so throw it away already i only wish i could forget all the things i need not recall the things i dont wish to remember my fingers shake as i put the knife away after having tried to kill it once again but it won't go away so i must learn to deal to blot it out with time and while i wait it gets easier for my mind is filled with other things much more worth the time

for some reason, it used to be associated with technology but now only "no money down" advertisements remain. How sad.. I remember waiting for new years when I was a little kid. Not its a new milenium and I don't give a shit, and neither does it.

maybe it was all those zeros that made it such an empty year maybe (but then again, i know better than to simply blame it on time)

Oh it was a wonderful year. I was eighteen. I saw it in standing in the middle of Dublin with my best friend, my favourite band playing and fireworks going off. At midnight I looked at the moon as promised and in Limerick Kevin looked at the same moon. We got a nitelink home and a boy from my estate who I'd never met before gave us free beer. A complete stranger walked me home. At home my parents' party was still going on so I drank champagne while watching the new year celebrations everywhere else in the world. It was the year I lost my virginity, left school, saw Rome, came out, started university....it was an amazing year.

a very special leap year as a programmer dealing with schedules i've had to learn the rules of the leap year basically if it's divisible by 4 then it's a leap year unless if it's divisible by 100 then it's not unless if it's divisible by 400 then it is y2k fulfills all of these and is only the 5th one to happen since the alleged birth of christ and won't happen again for at least another 10 generations consider yourselves special, folks you've witnessed something that won't be seen again until your great great great great great great great great grandchild and maybe not even then
