evertime i think I don't feel, I don't care anymore, from somewhere, I'll hear this violin play a note....and it hurts again. It's so soft, so subtle, so nothing. But it's like running a sharp knife across my skin ever so slowly... My heart just begins to ache. I close my eyes, and just seep deep into the thickness of the pain....soaking myself in that note, in that chord....fading away... dying....i must prevail ...someone give me a c chord....i will overcome...eventually ....so there...

My grandfather was a violin prodigy, i have his violin, made in 1776, Italian. I tried to learn but am so old my bones have set and can't even hold it properly without pinching nerves in my neck. My teacher (who plays with the orchestra here) was amazed with my instrument. He played his, then mine, and mine sounded like three of his. He wanted it so badly but had no money. if only i were rich i would have given it to him. such a nice russian fellow. Oh how i wish some had put it in my hands 30 years ago.

What was it that they were always saying about the violin? Oh yeah, you had it good if you played the violin. Even if the last owner had written on the bridge in blue ink, not giving you a chance for genius.

ooohhhh, an italian instrument made in 1776...the peak of the violin. i'm crying over here. i've always wanted one of those. the violin was the best mistake i ever made in my life. i love to play, have always been told that i have a natural talent for it. my instrument is a german one made in 1891. i love it. it has been so many places with me. i think my emotional health hinges on it. i love to make that thing cry when i can't. it is definitely the inanimate love of my life.

my violin... it's a sofia... I've been in such a crappy mood today and I played for like an hour and now I feel so good inside. relaxed. calm, the sadness is still there, but the intensity is much less... I love my violin.

I am always playing just listening to music, I find a part of myself playing along and every little movement is there inside my soul a whirling storm-cloud a caged thing whose wings amass some long promised freedon and it is all there my voice my song my soul spelled out on a string ~*~

I think I'm going to stop playing after this next year. It's probably for the best, but I just don't think it's the smartest thing on the earth to keep playing.

Dude, when you asked to play it, you startled me by actually knowing how to play. It's been so long... You make me slip. Maybe it's not a good idea to be with writers or violinists. I just can't seem to help myself. Maybe I like competition.

Oh yes, my physics teacher said that violins have the smoothest sound wave, followed by the cello. It makes sense to me that the violin, the instrument that makes the most beautiful sound on Earth, would have the smoothest sound wave.

and i find it's not just a matter of listening to a song and copying it exactly, it's more like listening to a song, taking it into your own heart, then putting it back out into the air, recognizable still, but new, and changed, as it is now you playing it, you being played

I just heard a song called violin and there was no such instrument in it, just the depressing sound of a prom queen desperately seeking approval and love as she realizes her life is as empty as her music. I always wanted to learn how to play the violin but my parents could never afford lessons or rentals.

i made a roomful of people cry with my playing the other day. the little five year old said to me 'that was really sad. it made me cry and it reminded me of my grandpas funeral' i would not undo the solid years of my life that i have spent practicing and playing and performing on the violin i currently play on a 2001 angelo marin made in italy. i am the only one that has ever owned it. it is very much mine. i love the way the sound has opened up over the past decade. i can make people cry with it; it is great to have a direct link to other peoples hearts without words

violin. versitile. energetic or slow... sweetly high pitched or raspy and deep... gypsy punk or classical, anything inbetween. I heard it was the closest instrument to the sound of the human viice, it was suggested fir some kind of use involving language barrier ir speech, I've firgotten the point of that information or idea. my best friend played the viola, I always annoyed her by calling it a violin : ) I played flute while she played viola. we tried to write our own mysic, it was cute but never really actually good. I miss music, reading it, playin it, feeling it, playing as a group. unhinged, I love that you have put so much work into an instrument and that you seem to be passionate and full of love for it, that you teach children and play for audiences. Instopped playin when highshool ended and i no longer had a regular director or group of friends. i had the sane teacher from second grade through highschool. I should try to find the passion again. or at least the joy. I always feel really good when I knowthat I am playing a piece well. accomplished, connected.
