Certainly some blatherites are more personable than others, but I enjoy reading all the things I find here.
It's a little like dialing accross the radio dial while driving at night accross new territory you haven't been through before. Some bits and pieces of music you know, some snatches of talkshow where you have to really strain to understand. Or occasionally some blinding Revelation that makes you pull off the road and stare at the star filled sky like you had never even seen it before.
It is the site Blather@Newdream.net that I find most popular. And if it wasn't for the open anonymity that allows for free expression here, it would not be the same. The idea that this might be a popularity contest could keep some shy visionary from showing us all some unique Jewel of Rare Perspective. We would be the Unfortunate Ones.

Ok, this is the second time ive been called "blather popular". Well, i guess maybe i can except that, but if IM "popular", i feel really, really bad for the "unpopular" blather-ers here, because i really dont notice any special attention paid to what i say. I dont really think there should be a divide between what would be called "popular" and the "unpopular" on blather or anywhere else. I never see people by those lines, and nobody should be either. Thats my input on this whole thing.

Even abstract things tend to steer toward the meticulous, constructed way that our society works. It's just people. In the real world, people are attracted toward each other based on looks first, then personality, where i am "popular". Yet, on blather, people are attracted to people based on words alone, (and sometimes "real life" relationships) where i am an outsider.

the only popularity anyone should have to worry about is with themselves. I know that sounds corny and stupid, but just because it's stated improperly doesn't make it dumb.
blather is a community of anymous personalaties, trends of communication. certain personalities naturally tend towards 'popularity'.
But here, even if you were 'popular' you would have little way of ever knowing that. Some of my favorite blathes have no one else commenting on them, or even on no accompanying blathes.
I've decided to be here for what I was here in the begining for, no more will I care about any sort of community. I'm here to add to this digital gift of blue bliss. and the only way I can do that, is to make my words the best I can in my opion, pleasing myself. Depth here, becomes harder and harder to find, but when you do it's a realing thing, that makes you shake as if in trepidation, only with joy.
No more am I blathering under community titles.

everyone worries about how popular they are on blather because everyone wants to be heard. whats the point of writing if no one can ever read it? everyone writes in hopes that someone will eventually read it. even novelists. no matter how much the say that they write for themselves, they still hope that someone will read it and enjoy. everyone has to feel like they belong. if you dont feel you belong then whats the point of being here? no one wants to be alone all the time. we all need attention

bc i was just going to claim that i am not "blather popular." and i hope it is bc i havent been here very long at all. barely a month. and then i was also going to claim that i write for myself and not anyone else. but there is much truth in that everyone is writing so that someone else will read it. if i didnt care if anyone else read all this, then i would right it in a word document and save it on my own little computer in my own little room all locked up and secluded and scary. well thatd just be bad. and anyways, im an blathe addict already. imagine what ill be a few years down the rode. no actually, dont, now that i think about it.
