daxle no one is naturally just like everyone else. it's pretty backasswards that the people who go around pretending like they're not individuals aren't the freaks. 990429

trakie started out just being a little different, but got a weird reaction from people. kinda enjoyed being misunderstood. tried being more different (ie: myself) and people were even more biased towards me. people's short-sightededness amuses me, so now i don't even try to be anyone but myself. havin more fun this way. how can the "normal" people stand it? 991130
...
troy ..."trakie": -'Normal' people; -ack!
Normal, Common, and Average, are all "Four-Letter-Words" to me (considering what Normal/Common/Average actually *is* in the "Mainstream" culture/society right now...
EEEK! Gimme the FREAKS anyday, over the 'Normal' people!!!

psyki dry stale pudding in the cracks in the pavement bubbling friskily like the saltine cracker crumbs that assault my wretched clumps of oily hair with their nectarine goodness when i am trying to sleep in my octagonal bed like an overweight princess frothing at the mouth and still crying from last night's fateful beating because it hurt so bad and the monkey lard fell from the ceiling in huge lumps and i tried to dodge them but my arms were tied behind my back with a thick piece of gorilla intestine so i just stood their nonchalantly and waited and whispered and sometimes i forgot who i was talking about perhaps it was timothy the magic wasp or perhaps it was juan the magic bobcat anyhow it doesn't matter really anyway at least i don't think it does too much i can't wait until the execution my nose is bleeding already so much fun yes that i couldn't stop hopping around on my little blue raisin bike that my pet accordion bought me for my eighth birthday i will never ever forget that special moment 000122

nameless his hair was like a painted yellow river, surfing along his black, big overcoat. he looked secure, yet insecure. looked for something to stare at-anything but me, he saw i was looking at him. i wasnt shocked or surprised by his act, just interested as he looked very shining and glittre, yet cold i dont know what attracted me so much, was it his conflicts? although he didnt seem too flattered by my interests at him, infact, he looked like he was trying to get rid of my staring looks so he finely look up at me and suddenly, i felt as if i was in a looks-fight with him, a staring contest, or at least thats what i thought so when i finely open my mouth, about to say "hi" he disappointed me by asking "what are you staring at" on second thought, im glad i didnt have the chance to say such a dry word as "hi" next to such a glowing criture, WAS glowing, until i realized it was my imagination that made him glow, it was only his outside apperence that made him different than me. 000204

Midnight Bliss are always singled out, just because they are expressing themselves. the word freaks is often used to describe the clique that my friends are in. even at the funeral of a fellow "freak" the pastor said that in this town, by the time you're in junior high you are labeled a cowboy, a prep or a freak. When really if you look around, there are no cliques, there are only ppl, there are the leaders (those who choose to be themselves) and the followers (those that flow in the same river as the rest of them so they can have a place to call home). diversity.

a lot of people are afraid to be themselves, which makes it hard to see why there are so many "individuals" around. everyone claims that they are being themselves, but you just can't see it...

always remember "freaks" are people too, they just aren't afraid to be themselves

MollyGoLightly A clique with rules, same as any other. 000321
...
Brad concise and very well said, molly. 000321
...
Midnight Bliss why do you all have to label ppl? "freaks" are NOT a clique with rules, just like everyone else...why do ppl say that? friends don't have rules, they are just themselves. and why must everyone single out and point their fingers at "freaks"? maybe those who do that can explain why... 000328
...
MollyGoLightly WHOA..hold on there, cowboy. I suppose "ppl" means me. I did not point my finger at anyone. Either that or I pointed it at everyone.
If you want to get pissed off at people "labeling" others and "singling them out," then be angry with the blather topic itself. I was just responding to the topic--just like everyone else who has posted. It's interesting that you've gotten so worked up over my calling Freaks a clique with rules.

dean-bean I have toes that are long and jointed like fingers.
I am glad my parents didn't sell me to a circus.
I'd hate to have to live in a cage, only eating the peanuts that the gathered crowds threw me for picking up objects with my feet.
000328
...
Brad I almost responded to that too... but i figured it was molly's domain, and i didn't feel right about defending her... that's kind of a gang-up mentality. But i, too, see it as a definite clique with rules. It even has a name for pete's sake. Open your eyes. 000328
...
M.B. sorry i blew up, it's just i get really worked up when ppl say that. how can you have friendships though if there are rules...please explain the rule thing to me. none of my friends have rules for the "group" and i have never had any friends that had rules. maybe it's not as obvious to me, but explain the rule thing to me. friendship to me, is when you can be yourself and not have to be tied down by rules.

i'm apologizing to you molly for saying that...i have just been through a lot recently and i get offended easily at the moment, and i realize that this is here to express your mind.

MollyGoLightly It's okay, Midnight. :) 000402

Brad Midnight, i think by 'rules' we were referring to unspoken rules which often exist unbeknownst even to those who create and abide by them. I mean, many of the people labeled (either against their will or otherwise) as "freaks" have many similar identifying characteristics, such as similar dress and appearance, musical tastes, even manner of speech. The possibility of this being mere coincidence is extremely unlikely. I have seen people excluded from hanging out with people called 'freaks' (geez i hate these labels) and I have even had noses turned up at me by people that fit this description on a few occasions. I don't fit the criteria. I am excluded. Not to say, of course, that i really mind... Just as an explanation, however, this is what i mean by 'rules.' 000402
...
Midnight Bliss okay, i'm not going to keep arguing about all this, and i will take your opinions into consideration...but Brad, how you said that they all have similar dress, appearence and interests, that is not entirely true. if you could see me, and then see my friends, you would be able to tell that it's not true all the time. my appearance is somewhat different then a lot of my friends' appearences. i enjoy different things then they do, but i'm still accepted. so here, there aren't even really the unspoken rules...i know that there are unspoken rules among all friends, as far as trust and honesty and things like that go, but guidlines that must be followed, they aren't present among my friends and i. 000407

Aelwryn Well, really, everyone is a freak. Freaks isn't one of those easyily labeled groups, though most people will say that 'goths' or 'punks' are freaks, freaks are everyone. It's all up to your own perception. A punk could find a prep to be a freak, and the prep finds a goth to be a freak, and the goth finds the punk to be a freak. It's just shows our own fucked up realities in our heads. 030228

quicksilver21166 I am a freak, a geak, and one of the wretched.
I walk alone, never saying to much
for the reason that no one realy listens to me anyways.

I hate being me, but me is what i am.
No one can change me on the inside, only I can do that.

I search for love and never find it.
No one will excepte me for me,
there for no one will ever be able to truly love me for me,
FOr I am a freak

hyena the outside is nothing. freak lifestyles don't always show.

this is not some group, not some subculture or group of subcultures. this is what people call you when they really truly don't understand, when the way you live your life and direct your brain is compeltely alien to them. when they are fascinated because they have never seen a mental map like yours.

it takes more than rebellious attitude and individuality to be a freak, at least as i define it. freaks are found on the fringes, the true fringes, not just subcultures and drug scenes and weird sex habits. the ones who have left this earth in search of their home are the freaks.

everyone wants to think they have left behind all social boundaries. very few have.

tchiseen my computer is a freak. i mean, if you really think about freaks though, we're better to them now than we used to be. they dont have freak shows, at least. i had a teacher who was like the bearded lady. it depends where you go. freaks change too, i think when you get past high school it doesnt matter, but there are still some freaks who feel the need to make us other freaks uncomfortable. that, i dont understand.

btw if you havnt seen some freaks, come to sydney, walk down king street, there are heaps of 'freaks' but its ok.
