it would be safe to say that everyone here dwells in blatherspace. but when you aren't looking at a dark blue screen, what place in the world do you call home? I'm just curious if there is a particular region that attracts alot of blathery people. My part of the world = Ventura, CA USA

It's currently looking like a tie between North Carolina and Canada. It also looks like blatherskites tend to live in the colder parts of the planet.

i lived in ventura for ten years, first in an apartment on santa clara, then in houses on macmillan, and cedar st. just down from the cross. i surfed the point, ate at cafe fiore like a regular, and loved sundays at arroyo verde. once we camped out under two trees and woke to total fog.

*sings it's a small world* Wow, what a coincidence log! I live in East Ventura. I like West Ventura better. I've been here 2 years. I also lived in Oxnard and Camarillo. Where do you live now? So now we have 2 North Carolinans, 2 Canadians, and 2 people that live or used to live in Ventura, California. It's a tie now.

In summary: I've observed that blatherskites live in the the Northern region of the planet. I'm the only southpaw here. I'm the only idiot that would rather sit behind my computer than sit in the sunshine. It's just kinda smoggy here.

okay, face it. i'm an idiot for posting this. it's been done before. but isn't it possible that some people didn't respond the first time? and we have some common ground on which to talk about ourselves. after all, we all came from somewhere. sure people have changed names and so you don't know they are actually here. i certainly know that blather is a place i have tried to leave many times, but never have. if i really do leave, i would probably come back as a new alias. on that note: does anyone know if paste! still posts here, maybe under another name?

paste! is a dinosaur blatherskite and is probably reading if not posting under another name. skites rarely leave blather altogether. yeah, we stop writing from time to time, but we still visit to see what's up. the dude is awesome and we enjoyed his outlandish writing for many years, just ask yummyc, or seventeen, or is it eighteen, by now? whitewave, because you are a fellow venturan, i love you. you have every right to seek where we skites hail from, for new ones arrive from time to time. ask away. by the way, i asked you about buena thinking you might have gone there in the past, not particularly if you go there now. i'm actually, 44.

is it san francisco? each blather a peeling poster on a lampost or a poster half covered. a conversation between two businesmen crossing a bum's monologue about the cia bugging his anus. really though, blather isn't a place, it's a description of a personality. to be a blatherskite is to share certain personality traits which may be correlated with other traits. the most blatherish place is the horizon.

there's a few Aussies around here so I wouldn't label North America as 'it' just yet. I think the Aussies have mostly hailed from the east though (Melb, Syd, Bris), anyone from Perth/WA or even SA/NT? btw, some of the dates on those "out of date" pages are pretty recent so I wouldn't write them off entirely. Also there are some pretty good location lists on some of those blather_journey_book pages, and presumably the pending addresses/people are at least mostly still current.
