I feel like I'm standing at the edge of this huge precipice. I know I have to jump, and I don't even get to make the decision when it'll happen. My body is going to do that for me. I can look back all I want, but I know it's pointless for me to even bother joining in on where I could/should be. Everything is going to change, and I don't know if I'm up to it. I know I can do this, I know it'll be okay, but it's going to be a defining moment... a moment of truth, if you will...

Kerry Says Iraq Lies at 'Moment of Truth' 2 hours, 49 minutes ago President Bush said Friday that progress has been made in stabilizing Iraq in the year since he declared an end to major combat, but his Democratic challenger insisted the United States has not succeeded in its mission and now faces a "moment of truth" in the conflict. "This anniversary is not a time to shout. It is not a time for blame," presidential candidate John Kerry said at Westminster College. "It is a time for a new direction in Iraq and for America to work together so that once again this nation leads in a way that brings the world to us and with us in our efforts." http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040430/ap_on_el_pr/kerry&cid=694&ncid=2043

This little speech he gave himself can obviously be very easily misinterpretted: "It is not a time to shout. It is not a time for blame," (dildo) Could be any type of shout, could be a number of different blames. Notice how he makes it sound like he wants the US and Iraq to work together: "...It is a time for a new direction in Iraq and for America to work together..." (asshole) How the FUCK does America work together with itself? "...so that this nation leads in a way that brings the world to us and with us in our efforts." (?) Ask yourself which nation he is talking about, and what does to us and with us mean? A moment of truth does exist, but this truth has no definition. Everyone has different truths, contradicting truths. Each truth takes a different approach at digging deeper and deeper.

Iraqis Hail Falluja 'Victory'... 22 minutes ago Cries of "victory over the Americans" echoed from minarets and guerrilla gunmen celebrated in the streets under the green banner of Islam and Saddam-era Iraqi flags. i'm still shocked that i just...came out and asked him if i was one of the girls he'd fucked for a free meal. i was satisfied with his answer, though. i really like working the desk when it's rainy outside. i like being awake this early when it's rainy outside, i think. it's sad that i delight in both of their miseries and fuck-ups, but i'm sure that i deserve to stop blaming myself. i wish he'd been around last night, even if he never got around to inviting me over. i'm curious as to what next semester holds for us. it really makes sense that i'm addicted to stress. and on a smaller scale, to physical attention to lessen that stress. i just never thought of it before.

For instance:- Accused US Army deserter says he saw Iraqi prisoner mistreatment 25 minutes ago WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US Army soldier to be tried on charges of deserting from the Iraq war claimed he saw civilians die and Iraqi prisoners mistreated as early as May 2003. "It wasn't what I had imagined as a soldier, that we were going to attack a defined enemy and that soldiers were going to be killed by enemies," said Florida National Guard Staff Sergeant Camilo Mejia, whose court-martial begins Thursday at Fort Stewart, Georgia. "I saw rather that a lot of innocent people died, a lot of civilians."

we run, says augustine, because truth makes us happy. and we are happy with what we think is true being true to us, so when we are told that it is not true it means that we were really not happy before, we only thought that we were happy, and we sink into the depression of have loved a false truth. so often, he says, it is better to believe a false truth and not have it challenged. that way you don't risk discovering that it really is a false truth. oh 'confessions', how beautiful you are!
