productivity
d It bothers me when people sigh, 'i wish that i was more productive today'
the very word productive is kinda unsavoury.

It is something that would be in the NYTimes headlines, 'Productivity percentages have risen!'

miniver I am convinced that, at this point in civilization, and at my particular position therein, human life requires a 36-hour day. Actually, not necessarily, but mostly, approximately so many more hours. It could be thirty. It could be 45. Whatever. You get the idea.

This whole issue of technology giving us 'more time', which we just spend on creating newer technologies to give us 'even MORE time' -- I think the only problem with such a progression is in the fact that we are not supporting and reinforcing the progress in any logical or efficient or sage or utilitarian or remotely curious manner. We are, in fact, doing nothing at all but floating along in our, for the most part, natural, traditional way. Our actual needed/desired active hours have outgrown the 24-hour cycle of sun-up and sun-down. So, people are either not getting enough sleep every day, or are not getting everything done that they wanted to do (or getting everything done, but with no remaining spare time). Now, I recognize that this wouldn't end the cycle; I recognize that, having this much more time (now with the required sleep to go with it), we'd still just want/need so much MORE time, and more, and more, et cetera. The difference is, I think we should actually try to see where, if anywhere, this cycle might lead. Is it infinite? Is it exponential? Is it a cycle at all? Do you care?

Hey. What's so great about planetary rotation, anyway?

miniver So, you see, what I'm sayin' is: the whole wake-while-light/sleep-while-dark thing is not the 11th Commandment or anything.

'Old habits...', though, I guess. Very old, very nearly humanly-universal habits...

Oh well.

Still, for me, it feels like I would function better with a nice active 24 hours, and then 12 hours to sleep (again, give or take whatever few hours you will).

Subject: Productivity, GOD, GIVE & TAKE

Productivity is OUTput(OUT) over INput (IN) or

OUTput
------
INput.

You are productive if
your's GIVE/ OUT is more than TAKE/ IN

The highest productivity is INFINITY,
when Something (OUTput greater than ZERO) is created/ produced out from Nothing(ZERO INput).

Who can do this:-
- Create/ produce Something from Nothing
- GIVE without TAKE
The answer is GOD???

Subject: Productivity & GOD

Scientific Observation/ Conclusion:

We are not productive in Our UNIVERSE as we can't effort to GIVE (OUTput) more than what we TAKE (INput).

Thus, we need someting (GOD ???), which can GIVE more than what it / he / she TAKE (s) to cover up our unproductive NATURE....

Dafremen My productivity has INCREASED at least 93% since I started blathering. Of course part of that might be due to my career change. I now consider blathering to be my core job function.

minnesota_chris My productivity has been bothering me lately. Although I worked three days this last week (as a substitute teacher, which should qualify me for a medal!) it only amounted to about 20 hours of work. Granted, $300 is cash... but I should be working harder or something.

This summer I want to work two jobs, get a cell phone, live out of my car. Pay off some bills, lose my fledgling tan.

flowerock stunted by sleeping all day, awake 2pm to 6am ish-ish is a much less productive time frame for me it seems. I feel more productive and focused at night lately though... maybe that's because my night is my noon now. Green tea and vapor and running seem to help. the recent week of non stop rain and now finally sun shine helps too. so cooped up that I suddenly have every reason to leave the house all day. 140210

you cant quantify that

they measure my productivity, usefulness to the company in numbers. number of dollars sold versus returned, number of credit cards opened. blah_blah_blah . what these numbers fail to acknowledge is the number of times a day customers genuinely thank me for my patience and help.
