Since the migraines make me dizzy and incoherent, it's hard to separate the side effects of the drug from the headache itself. BUT, when I took Midrin for the next headache, I was only in pain for a couple of hours....what a difference! The doc told me to take it and try to lie down because of the sedating effect. I suspect that folks getting high off of it are feeling the sedative, but I sort of hope it doesn't get taken off the market because it becomes a recreational drug. 040124 ... I was going to take it at work... maybe I should wait and try it at home in case it makes me as high as you all say it does. 040310 ... deadbill i've had midrin(well actually never "midrin" but 2 generic forms: migrazone, and epidrin) yea i take it for migrains works pretty well. good for getting you high. i used it to sleep through school and while i was at home. i switched from DXM to it because it was damn wonderfull, infact i am under the influence of it right now. once i took 5 capsules in a 2 hour period and went to sleep with my partner at the time, i would nod off and stop breathing, then awakened by my bed mate. after a few good nods, the next time i did she would shake me up and tell me that my heart stopped. well thats my OD story. i wouldn't suggest freebasing it, this doesn't work well, but snorking it does. but just plain poppin' the caps' works just dandy. i have sold it a few times($5 american for 3 capsules). the smell is very memorable, and causes me to have a slite bit of acid reflux. i've watched Pi many times and i do believe they are the pills in question. when i tried the first time to quite cold turkey after taking about 90 in 2 months i had one hell of a headache for the next week, i drowned it out with cough syrup and booze. if anyone knows of any way to extract the dichloralphenazone from the midrin or get pure dichloralphenazone hook it up. P.S. my rec. dose is 3 also if you sleep the warm fuzzy fealings go away ;D 040513 ... Joyce I have a bottle of Midrin here that my Dr. gave me 2 months ago. I haven't taken it yet. I have migraines & fibromyalgia. I am already on 5 30 mg. of morpine sulf a day for the pain from the fibro. I also take Xanax 4 mgs. a day. i'm on Zoloft& Imipramine, both antidepressants. I take on flexeril tablet at bedtime. I take one atenolol at bedtime & 1 hydroclorazide in the morn. It's taken 12 yrs. to get to this point. I am terrified to take the midrin.When my Dr. gave me Imitrix, I thought I'd have a heart attack. I had trouble breathing. I'm so afraid that this one is like that & that scares the hell out of me. I can take a lot of narcotics, but not to get high, I'd smoke weed for that, it's legal up here with drs. slip.I'd love to go back on Vicodin. I took those for 7 yrs. 5 or 6 a day. Dr. was concerned about the tylenol, then I find this has tylenol.Where are they coming from?? I get confused. He sent me to 3 specialists to get there opinion on my having vicodin here, 30 a month was what they all recommended. He got their notes & still wouldn't do it. I'd like to just whack him in the head. it took so damm many yrs. to get on drugs I could function on & still be somewhat pain free. I'm pissed right now, cause of this 3 day headache I'm having. I could take another morphine tab. but it really doesn't help. these are the timed release pill, that slowly release the drug through your body. I'm pain free from the shoulder down, but when i get these damm migraines, I then also get sick, so I have Tigan suppository to take for nausea. I don't know what the hell to do right now. Denise I don't know when you wrote this post Joyce, but it sounds to me like you are on WAY too many meds. probably the reason you are having so many problems is because the drugs are reacting with each other. One of the precautions with Midrin is that you are NOT to take it with antidepressants. If your doctor knows you take them, you should not have been given a perscription for Midrin. I think your problems may be from your doctor. You might want to consider someone else. Alot of doctors go perscription crazy, and end up killing their patients. You really shouldhave someone else anylize the meds your on... 040910 ... Doug I'll agree with Denise, but back to the Midrin. Sometimes got them for 3 days every week, sometimes for 8 days straight. My new Dr. does things differently .. after 20 fucking years of head splitting he told me to come in anytime for a Vit B shot to stop the damn thing. Then he put me on 3 Midrin a day spaced 8 hours apart for two weeks. BAM .. fucking migranes gone for 14 months. Same for next four times then gone completely but i suppose that might be that i hit 50. This ain't how it says to use this stuff in the PDR but it sure worked for me. 060314 ... Mandy Great news!
