I think it would be better to use the words we type to navigate through blather instead of backtracking to the start. Like a maze, we should propegate at the end, wherever that is.

words are vessels red is different from scarlet. blood_red is different from either. and blood_red_sky makes an even bigger bucket, which from the other end of the perspective tube is a rather narrow bucket. blood_red_sky contains a synthesis of vessels, an alchemical joining. but when_everything_is_an_underscore, you have a lot of little voices tittering in the corners rather than a collection of will o' wisps, ready to be whatever you desire. whoever said that thing about the false landscape also had a good point. and my opinoin in all this? i look past what does not call to me. to me, phrases like word_sex or blather_is_blather are a single concept, and as valid as a wordform as any other, thankyouverymuch. i do, at times, crave more of a purity... but then i allow my eyes to prowl through blathes themselves, i lose myself in three_words dancing for me. maybe it's just that all my rage is otherwise occupied, but i somehow find myself utterly passive, with plenty of viewpoints but no real opinoin. mark this day on your calendars.

it's what you do with it that counts. or, in other words; it's not so much the underscores, as the words between them that miss the point. if it wasn't underscores, it'd be something else. I am intrigued as to why dallas_and_sage (or is it sage_and_dallas?) allowed underscores. I do think that the majority of underscored blathes are... not needed. and though it pains me, I must disagree nom; I'm sure the beautiful things would have found space elsewhere. still, not wishing to insult or shitrake, I will finally say that it's what we make of it that makes bather what it is; you don't like the content? make something you do like and share it. I will not be seen on this page again, lest it turn into another frightful slagging match.

somedays you look on blather and all you see are really long lists of underscores and i feel frustrated. i don't like creating underscores without putting a good deal of thought into it because i feel like im destroying a foreign place. im sure ive made annoying underscore entries but nowadays im mostly frustrated with myself and my identity on blather. i don't know why i keep putting so much thought into it. WHO THE HELL AM I ANYWAYS? i really don't know. i think im losing touch with everything. i really do. there are times when i try to see how long i can go without blathing under any underscores. if you look at my list, ive never done very well. though, for some reason ive noticed that new skites usually start out with single words. anyways, my opinion: underscores allow individuality (i think ive said this before) but when they reach a ridiculous level of test pages and words that end in ing or something, well then it just seems sort of pointless.

somethings to note: the_first_blathe with an underscore was mountain_dew on 980918 exactly one month after the_first_blathe the first underscore_connected_phrase was fuck_it_all on 981101 dallas did indeed use underscores way back in 990417 with death_defying the ability to underscore was given to us by the blather_gods a long time ago

the point is the lack of a point. just letting the words spill out. I agree that the 200-word blathe titles are a little ridiculous, but if that's how some people work, then power to 'em.

I think it's good to start some blathes with underscores. The first one was mountain_dew I think. And you can't really write that under mountain, or dew, can you? And if somebody's going to write something scintillating under a huge ass title, more power to them. I just mind the junky blathes. Especially when I write them.

I think it would be good if someone could do titles that were more than one word without underscores. Why don't we have that feature? Maybe they could be in quotation marks or something, and that would set them off from words and sentences that are in the same order but aren't referring to the title. was thinking about this last night.

I believe we are all correct in what we are doing. Like it has been stated, this is all merely an experiment. There are really just a few that want to be a bit bitchy and try to make blather their own, fabricating rules, etc. Please, enough of this petty squabbling.
