But here there can be no personal threads. What you post here is for everyone to see and comment on. If you only want to talk with certain people,. then use e-mail.

i agree with casey. if its on blather you have to allow people the option of posting their 2cents whether or not it has anything to do with the topic. thres just not control.

So what you're saying then S.B is that, intent aside, I CAN'T really infringe upon blatantly personal threads here? Well sh*t. That's no fun. (P.S. I keep a fire extinguisher by the front door for just such an occasion kasmocky. The aforementioned lunch sack is on it's way to YOUR front door MARKED RETURN TO SENDER via U.S. Postal carrier. Enjoy!)

See the thread entitled "Jodi" to understand what I'm talking about. I realize that what you post is public domain, but my example is clearly, uh, egregiously misplaced. I don't know. I'm tired and it's only a quarter to five in the afternoon. Strange. I'm just sticking up for yoink, basically... he's a good lad.

So was the dog that played lassie all those years. I always wondered why they never showed Lassie squirting a tree or something. Guess it would have been kinda hard to explain how a "lass" could piss on three legs.

ok, I agree with the "Jodi" example, that's pretty damn private, but, if you want to make a private room, you could call it eg: "this_is_a_private_room_dont_enter" or "kasdhasiudyasiudh" maybe in the first case, human curiosity would overcome some people, but in the second case, well, yeah ok, same again, i mean, lets face it, if you want a diary go buy a book or get some free webspace with angelfire or something, no? But all in all, I agree that it would be cool to be able to have private blathes (or at least read only) and i totally sympathise with yoink. Yes...

There's a simple way to do that: Encrypt the text using a key that only the two individuals know. Give the ecryption/decryption key to only those people that you want to share the blathe with....course it would be time consuming as hell.

dear dafreman, i know it was like a hella long time ago that you responded to that comment i made up there, but now that ive read it again... what i was saying was taht, Yes you have the right to infringe on personal topics because the original blatherer has no control. I meant the exact opposite of what you thought i said

it's a right, but from reading the jodi thread, well, it kinda was ass. i was really getting into just being able to see inside yoink's head, watch things pass... it detracts from the beauty, somehow... it is a right, but it is not right. make sense? ;)

probably almost everyone has their own private corner of blather, I know I do, but I don't mind if anyone reads it, particularly if they like what they read, though it's really pretty nuts. I have an awful habit of seeking approval of my existence. Someone did blathe on it really early on, but it's all encrypted or something weird and I don't understand it anyways. They're absolutely right though, if you think you're going to get really stressed out about someone tagging their comments on the end of your brain then post it somewhere that they can't do that.

maybe these are some unwritten rules of courtesy for blather or something, but seriously, casey had an association too, it isn't fair for yoink to be the only person to type there. it just isnt fair.

there are probably several blathes that are personal to someone. but what if that word or name strikes a chord with someone else, and they want to write something? even if it hasn't by touched by anyone but soandso for months? you can't get angry at them for doing so. blather isn't a place where you can claim certain words as your own.

Posting on blather is like going for a leak with the door unlocked. As it should be really. I mean, is there anything in anyones head that is so bad that it should live forever in the darkness of the brain? How long was it until blather achieves conciousness again? When this happens I wonder if it'll ever need to pee.

blatant·ly adv. Usage Note: It is not surprising that blatant and flagrant are often confused, since the words have overlapping meanings. Both attribute conspicuousness and offensiveness to certain acts. Blatant emphasizes the failure to conceal the act. Flagrant, on the other hand, emphasizes the serious wrongdoing inherent in the offense. Certain contexts may admit either word depending on what is meant: a violation of human rights might be either blatant or flagrant. If it was committed with contempt for public scrutiny, it is blatant. If its barbarity was monstrous, it is flagrant. ·Blatant is sometimes used to mean simply “obvious,” as in the blatant danger of such an approach, but this use has not been established and is widely considered an error. dictionary.com

Well, I would think that posting something on blather meant that the person wanted their thoughts to be seen, no matter how personal they are. Blather seems like a place to me where people go to say things openly that they can't say in real life. I might infringe on a couple personal blathes myself...but not with the intention of being intrusive. Its kind of the expectation when one posts something on bad. It will meet an audience if it is interesting enough. Maybe disclaimers might help with that problem.

S'Bob. I know it's a long time since you wrote that response to what I said. But I understood you. I was joking about the fact that if anyone is allowed to respond, then it's impossible to infringe. You can't infringe without there being a boundary to cross. THat is all. Good shit.
