Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind Possessing and caressing me Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes That call me on and on across the universe Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing Through my open views inciting and inviting me Limitless undying love which shines around me Like a million suns, it calls me on and on across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Jai guru de va om, Jai guru de va om Jai guru de va om, Jai guru de va om Jai guru de va om Jai guru de va om Jai guru de va om

we take a papercup and start a line of story, idea, etc. it just continues on and on passed around the masses until there is something so creative and diverse mixed with so many views and thoughts together forming an intricate story so unique and magical beauty so easily found pure and simple sweet and innocent angry and profound all on a papercup

paper_espresso espresso_to_go It just doesn't make sense to me... why not just quickly drink it from the cute_and_classy ceramic cup? They never walk out the door with them... why waste the cup and cheapen the experience and flavor? Does the paper taste good to you? There's already a ban on plastic bags... I'd like to see a ban on to_go cups... or at least a requirement that the cups be of recycled materials, recyclable, locally_produced, sourced, and recycled... we go through so many of them, it's disgusting.

and then you would have an endless stream of tourists biting your head off about why san francisco doesn't have paper to go cups while they blow their cigarette smoke in your face. if you don't like paper to go cups don't use them. lead by example.

(responsible businesses should already use 100% recycled or compostable to go containers. in the grand scheme of capitalism in a city that has a high rate of tourism banning papercups is a little bit absurd)

Most of them carry big purses or backpacks and a water botle, why not a light weight cup? I live in the city, I use money, so I have to work by the rules of those who pay me. Some of the paper products are recycled or biodegradable, but not the little white paper cups... It is absurd, I'm unhappy with it, I'm not trying to scream about it, just surface it, vent about how it makes me feel. We charge ten cents for water to pay for the cups when someone asks for water, it upsets people who have paid for a meal already... which I understand, but the cups cost money and we want everyone to understand what drought really means for all of us. Sure the cup of water isn't causing or ending it, but it's still worth only taking it if you're going to drink it... In any case, it is unrealistic to ban the paper and plastic cups all at once or even all together. There's got to be some mid ground that helps all sides. So far I've given discounts for those with their own cups, and suggested people use their empty metal or glass bottles instead when I notice they have it, so far the response has been positive and maybe it will become more common? Save money with a container or pay extra for a disposable one.

people from texas and florida will not carry their own cups to a coffeeshop just because they are in san francisco. americans are entitled assholes like that. they will just yell at you about how ridiculous it is that they have to bring their own cup. i dont think bag regulations have made me give out less bags. i just have to listen to people bitch more

places in seattle give discounts for bringing your own containers and bags. from san francisco to seattle people are much more ecoconcious. we value it here. a lot of people from the southeast dont have a clue about regulation OR giving a shit about the environment. texas could be another planet as far as im concerned. i think we should all care about taking better care of the planet and be less disposable but i am also tired of middle aged trophy wives with too much plastic surgery bitching at me about how ridiculous it is that they have to pay five cents for a bag and its not even plastic. i cower in fear that more east coast assholes are moving here everyday because of asshole amazon

it would definitely be good if paper cups were 100% recyclable. maybe a lot of people don't know they're not? something like the plastic-bag system in a lot of cities (ie, charging for them at the store) should be put in place for to-go cups too. i mean, people might still pay the 10 cents and take their to-go cup, but it would heighten awareness that they could maybe bring their own cup. not entirely sure how these things are put in place though, admittedly.

Charging extra for to go cups is a good idea... in a way we do the opposite, Togo orders carry less of a tax, at least at the cafe. The complaints are annoying, for sure. I've seen a lot of positive response too... the people who would otherwise complain seem to know that they're out numbered and that in reality, it us right and not that hard to being your own bag... and they laugh and seem to have fun learning to use the reusable bags. It's kind of a "thing" here that people expect to deal with I guess. Seattle sounds more like sf than I remember with the tech industry and stuff... but I never really lived there. There will always be people to complain. When I rented biked out they complained that it was illegal to bike on the sidewalk because the street isn't "safe". We are ultimately responsible for ourselves and what we put into the world and collective_reality. Like unhinged said, lead_by_example. That is the best place to start. Unfortunately today, I used a paper cup after all my bitching... I took strong green tea with me after work in a paper cup because my throat hurt and it was cold and wet out... apparently I need a better system for having a good container with me, too.
