I wouldn't know what to do if certain sad people became permanently happy instead of sad. It would be like walking backwards everyday, I would always be looking over my shoulder.

how many emo kids does it take to screw in a light bulb? Who cares! Let them sit and cry in the dark! emo is the most overused word in music today. It gives all the real cool kids a great label that really sets them apart. Fake glasses make you look stupid. As does conforming. 'Emo" gives to many, bad, new found glory or saves the day wanna be's, that think they are punk rock, a way out of actually playing punk rock. Thye can say it's 'emo influenced'. How novel! I love drive thru records, yay! ever hear of christie front drive? american football? knapsack? Or do you listen to saves the day and dashboard confessional. dress how you want to dress, listen to what you want to listen to. Don't label, don't conform, don't limit yourself. Ban the word 'emo'.

"dress how you want to dress, listen to what you want to listen to. Don't label, don't conform, don't limit yourself. Ban the word 'emo'." So what if dressing how they wanted to dress included the fake glasses? Why insult them for doing something you agree they should do-doing what they want. Try not to insult other people for listening to what they do-even if it includes Dashboard Confessional. If they want to conform, let them. It's not hurting you. Don't limit yourself. That would include thinking of others' choices and how they have nothing to do with you. Why do you care so much? In writing this, it would give the impression that I care. I do care. I care because you've possibly insulted people, and have insulted me. Your choice to write did effect me. However, my choice to listen to dashboard does not effect you. Do you see the difference? But-no hard feelings, right? After all, not all emotions are negative.

hmmm.. I dont have fake glasses, and I dont rally even like dashboard. I do have glasses though.. but I have really bad eyesight.... I dont think you should stereotype people like that... a lot of preppy people and thugs and other kinds of people who do it just to fit in... so why not yell at them? and I actually do like punk more than emo, i dont limit myself to one kind of music. my boyfriend is in a punk band, I have had pink hair before and my favorite band is operation ivy (a punk band...) you dont even know me, you shouldnt assume that I am just like everyone else.

i second that. the blathe by Davis was somewhat insulting, though i am going to write the following and then not think about it anymore. all i wanted to say was that i also wear glasses that could be considered of an "emo" style though yes, they ARE real. and i do like emo bands but not dashboard confessional, and i do like punk and yes this includes saves the day but also many other bands. try not to stereotype, Davis, judging by YOUR blathe i'm sure there are many assumptions we could make about YOU.

liking dashboard confessional could lead to liking american football. i know it did for me. thats kind of the good thing about things getting exposed. it can lead you to other good things. i know a lot of people who listen to music of the indie rock persuasion that is also labeled with emo, wouldn't know of any of those bands if it weren't for some bands getting popular. that exposure lead to other exposure which lead to more and more, and if you weren't sucked in with some bands considered trendy by some and shitty by others, then you were influenced by friends, or older siblings, who WERE sucked in by popular bands which lead to underground bands. i don't know why so many people have a problem with like, sixteen year old kids who wear a certain kind of clothing. who cares what their reasons are? why do you have to bash other people if they aren't hurting anything? i don't think labeling something EMO hinders anything besides influencing some people to NOT listen to it because it is labeled emo. and if you don't like emo, don't label it emo. it still might be good in your eyes. like if you listen to dashboard confessional in the frame of mind that its like, singer-songwriter... maybe you won't be so angry. jeez

heebie jeebies 1)i like, and have no problem, with dashboard confessional. 2)I dont want to call emo anything else i just want to listen to music 3)i dont stereotype, if i see a kid walking down the street wearing thick framed glasses i assume he has bad vision and good fashion sense. hell, my granpa has "emo" glasses 4)there are also "emo" kids who do it to fit in. 5)pink hair proves what? 6)fake glasses are still ridiculous 7)people in my town (scene) suck! i have no clue who you people are. I just had a bad day! i have no problem, or make no assumptions about anyone on blather. i might not like you if i get to know you but that still doent mean i am attacking anyone on blather directly. if you still fell insulted or angry i apologize, please feel free to mail me so i can clear up any hard feelings go buy the new underoath album
