aliveness
For some, the height of existence is being in the thick of things, being amidst action, without the encumberance of thought and analysis.
051013
... |
Whereas for others, the real pleasure of existence comes from a studied reflection upon what has happened. Or extrapolation about what might later happen. There is pleasure in facts, in certainties. Or, alternatively, in fantasy. The unlimited realms of potential, or the finite realms of what is probable. Either way, for some, action is only a means to an evaluative process, or to an imaginative or creative process.
051013
... |
They are all, however, dependent upon action.
051013
... |
Oh? What makes you so certain about that?
051013
... |
Aren't imagining, creating, analyzing and whatnot all actions, of a sort?
051013
... |
What are you saying? That I am Noon, and you are Midnight?
051013
... |
It would really depend upon who you ask.
051013
... |
There must be some limits as to what is relative and what is not...musn't there?
051013
... |
It would really depend on the person or entity contemplating such a concept.
051013
... |
What a mess Dawn and Dusk have created.
051013
... |
Yes. And messes are wonderfully action packed, aren't they? Have you ever felt...so...alive?
051013
... |
I think I will study the mess thoroughly. I will extrapolate about this, and I will extrapolate about that. I will fantasize about what the mess could be but currently is not.
051013
... |
Is that artful science, or scientific art?
051013
... |
It simply is. Those are the things that I do. I cannot help but imagine.
051013
... |
You are beginning to sound like me!
051013
... |
Indeed, the distinction between us has become rather blurry...
051013
... |
So it is, with life and death.
051013
... |
HEY! Are you saying I am DEAD? I am quite alive, thank you very much.
051013
... |
But...you are after the death brought by Dusk, and before the birth brought by Dawn...
051013
... |
LEAVE US OUT OF THIS.
051013
... |
What I mean is, is...is...
051013
... |
Is Isis. That is what you mean.
051013
... |
Please, leave me out of this as well.
051013
... |
But Isis you are supposed to be on my side!
051013
... |
And I very well may be so, but right now I am busy with other things.
051013
... |
Hmph. For being dead, I sure have a lot of feelings about this all.
051013
... |
Well, what did you expect? That being dead meant complete annihiliation of all awareness?
051013
... |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!!! HOHOHOHOHO!!!
051013
... |
That is my association with being dead, yes. What else would death be, if not the complete annihilation of all awareness?
051013
... |
So then, life is the complete maximization of all awareness? Why must they be polar opposites? Even when asleep, you dream, thinking you are awake.
051013
... |
Dreaming is only a scrambled - or perhaps, unscrambled - interpretation of the preceding day - or days. It is a psychological function. There is a reason for dreaming, and it is tied to waking.
051013
... |
Why, thank you. That saves me from any need to explain to you the states of life and death.
051013
... |
You didn't explain anything at all.
051013
... |
I didn't have to. You already explained it. The awareness you experience while dead is only a scrambled - or perhaps unscrambled - interpretation of one's previous life - or lives. I suppose you could call it a spiritological function. There is a purpose for having an awareness when dead, and it is tied to living.
051013
... |
This conversation bugs me. I don't like it. I think it is scatological. Who cares? Either way, here I am, or rather, here we are, having this discussion. If I am dead, then you are communing with the dead, which is a ridiculous idea. There is a difference between death and life, I'm sure of it.
051013
... |
Sure, there is a difference, espe-
051013
... |
Enough. I don't want to talk about it. In fact I don't want to talk to you at all. I'm mad and you hurt my feelings. See how alive I am? I, death, am a living thing, and there is nothing you can do about it!
051013
... |
That's fine; I was saying the sam-
051013
... |
I don't care if you were saying the Sam or if you weren't saying the Sam! LEAVE ME ALONE, NOON!
051013
... |
Leave me alone, too. Both of you.
051013
... |
Oh? And what are you both going to do? Remain in a permanent state of sunrise or sunset? How silly.
051013
... |
La la la la la la la - I CAN'T HEAR YOU! - la la la la la la la.
051013
... |
Oh, how childish. Sheesh.
051013
... |
How could I be childish if I am DEAD?
051013
... |
I thought you couldn't hear me.
051013
... |
I...couldn't. I was...using my...intuition.
051013
... |
Look, I'm not saying that being dead has similarities to being alive with the intention of hurting you, my dear Midnight. I was merely trying to chat about this, and that.
051013
... |
Oh, I know. But if death retains similarities to being alive, then what do you call the ultimate state of nothingness?
051013
... |
Let's call it "Andru235". I think that would be a great name for the ultimate state of nothingness.
051013
... |
andru235
whatever. leave me out of this.
051013
... |
I'm sorry if I ignored you, Noon.
051013
... |
Apology accepted. I know you can be overly sensitive at times.
051013
... |
Well I'm not THAT sorry. Yikes. Don't be so haughty.
051013
... |
Look, can I buy you lunch or something? There is no need for us to fight about such trivial things.
051013
... |
See? Look how selfish you are! Lunch, my stars! LUNCH! Lunch is a noontime event!
051013
... |
Fine. Be that way. See if I care. I can't offer to by you the corollary meal for the middle of the night because there ISN'T one.
051013
... |
Oh, yes there is. Several of those silly earthly religious sects have meals at midnight. I shouldn't deride them, of course; they are the only earthly people that regularily eat in my honor.
051013
... |
Actually, it isn't in your honor. They eat then because they are really hungry after fasting all day in MY honor. Nothing personal, of course.
051013
... |
Noon, you can be such a snob. Such a snoot. Such a big goof.
051013
... |
I think you like it that way, my little strudel.
051013
... |
Oh, Noon! Make love to me! Take me in your arms, the way you always used to!
051013
... |
Oh, Midnight! Oh!

What's going on over there?!?
051013

Oh, that's just Life and Death, making sweet sweet love to each other, once again. What a pair! What a duo! LET'S HAVE ICE CREAM!
