no not exactly
it was a spelling test
my mom hung it on the wall
in the hallway i see it frequently
and find myself reading the words to myself
1. skipping
2. tapping
3. hopping
4. jamming
5. calling
6. mopping
7. where
8. grabbing
9. swimming
10. gripping
11. logging
12. tagging
(i messed up on the spacing when i put my name and the date on the wrong lines at the top. but i got a silver star.)
it's one of my earliest surviving written things
(hanging nearby is a poem i wrote the week before about a pussywillow...
and in a box in a closet are another two poems
called "bears" and "just like everyone else" from around the same time
(lots got lost/thrown away over the years/moves, including my journals. i'm glad my little spelling star is still shining)

i wrote this below a xeroxed photo of myself in the back of a book i made called "The Four Kittens", also marked 88-11-24. the pages are stuck together so i can't really read them unless i try steaming it.
i remember i was so excited when mrs. krall bound it for me. we had a reading in the library, all the kids and their books and their parents. people wrote comments on the comments page.
it has ladybug stickers.
