i watched this a fair few times as a kid which is funny to think because i can't remember the movie at all really and oddly enough i actually stood five feet from molly ringwald once outside the star-makeup-trailer-thingie at a movie shoot in vancouver and i thought it was so cool to see her off screen i shouted to her smiling "hey molly, i loved you in the breakfast club, and pretty in pink" and i can't hardly even remember pretty in pink anymore either

ah,what a great movie. =) Did you know that Ally Sheedy was originally supposed to play Molly Ringwald's part? I think she did a better job as the weird girl though. hehe,i love the picture she made with her dandruff. =D And who else cannot hear the theme song "don't you forget about me" without thinking about the movie(or vice versa)?

it was a movie? we had our breakfast club. i had to go to everyone's door at 7.25am to wake them up. then we would go as a mob to the cafeteria and have breakfast before our 8.30 classes. how we disliked our 8.30 classes! yet that is why we went to them so faithfully. we were the breakfast club.

omg this movie is fucking awesome! this might be a bit screwed up coz its what i remember, but i found this dialogue far too funny to be normal; "This is a day in big old Brian's life... 'Hey son! How was your day?' 'Great Dad!' *pokes dimples* 'How was your day?' 'Great! How'dya like to go FISHING at the weekend?' 'GREAT DAD! awwwww....but i've got HOMEWORK TO DO!' *pokes dimples and looks sad* 'Thats alright son! YOU CAN DO IT ON THE BOAT!' 'YAY!' *pokes dimples*" thats vaguely the way i remember it. Loved the guy who played the stoner, he was amazing, but obviously like 10 years older than everyone else on the cast. Oh well. Another bit i liked; 'I dont know if it would be construed (sp?) as rape considering i paid him to do it...' 'Ewwww! That's disgusting! Are you crazy?!' 'Obviously she's crazy....she's screwing the shrink...' hehehe that movvie rawks! made me wana live in america and get detention just so that i could be like that lol.

Silentbob- I completely agree that the ending/'moral of the story' sucks ass. But basically, I just love the rest of the film too much to care. And anyway, I would bet that it didn't end like that in the original script. It was probably the studio (as usual) trying to sweeten up/homogenise the film for the 'benefit' of the mainstream.

And btw: The reason I know this is probably true is because in Pretty Pink (also John Hughes) in the original script, Andie was supposed to end up with Duckie, but it was changed.

i saw it again a few hours ago. i love this movie more and more every time i watch it. however, i dont get it....does the 'prom queen' and the 'criminal' get it on in the cupboard? i bet that in real life they would have all gone back to school on monday and got on with their lives as normal. But i dont live in the real world, i live in the MOVIE world, and they all ended up happy, even brian, whom im sure married a textbook. ps. im drunk as i write this... gonna regret posting later but it seems ok atm.
