Christmas is soon upon us, as we each reach deep into our hearts to share the love that was shared for our childhood. It is the children of the earth that bring true meaning to the celebration of Christmas. As we were once children under the tutelage of our parents, we find ourselves looking at all the children around us, both young and old.

As the winter breeze turns the pasture white, the cows dip down to grab up a bunch of cold grass. This line could be from today or a thousand years ago. The memories that we hold, like going out with old Henry to fetch the cows for the morning milking, are like seasoning to a good soup. My memories serve me well, making me well seasoned. Perhaps this is where the phrase season’s greetings come from. For each of us to look back at how well our life has been seasoned, and be thankful.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Soon the snow will be floating all about us, and the laughter of all the ages will tickle our fancy. As we think about the special times shared, we once again kindle anew that spirit of joy; after all it's a birthday party right around the corner. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Happy Birthday God! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Share your soul with a friend, reach out and let them know this is a special time. With all the layers of life gone past, we paint yet another layer with all the majestic colors of the sweet baby in the manger. All a-glow with the spirit of forever, we can see our true light.

In your heart peace all over again fall tonight O silent blue bird calm gradual broken flight Spread your wing high up the mountain bright Quiet blue air surrounds each listening prayer Listening, hearing costly truths whom to forbear Letting go you’re hands my face held memories there Dreams wrapped up in a blanket light your pathway Into eyes filled blue fear; still tears in dreams you stay Freely go and bear worthy a white gown another day Birth a child, build up the house, a new love to smirk At birds blue nests there singing shining angels lurk Boast a messy chocolate face be-joy-all make it work Standing in the door way aiming out a separate path Forgiving the stains that feel so previous blue hath Vanished behind lingering brief kisses unsurpassed In morning, through day, to twilight moon and night Became heart your face alight, heavens intent unite O quiet blue bird, go calm gradual unbroken in flight.
