is a respiratory virus that is carried by asymptomatic people for up to two weeks before symptoms appear. a majority of cases only present mild symptoms (like most respiratory viruses) and the people dying of this virus in China are male smokers over the age of 70. doctors in china have had success 'treating' covid19 with megadoses of vitamin c (which is a general immune booster recommended by many doctors during cold season) of 3000mg. chill the fuck out america. viruses are a fact of biological life. wash your damn hands, take 5000 iu of vitamin d and 3000mg vitamin c daily, eat healthy, and if you do get sick REST. this is the same course of action for any non-chronic virus and if you are an adult and don't know this and are falling for the media hysteria, your ignorance and fear are a failing of our society to have a functioning public health sector

Not the best time for me to have a cold (which I do). I'm half-afraid if I get sniffly tomorrow people will be all, "Augh! You have the plague! Begone!" Mind you, I was a bit worried last night when I had a sore throat and a bad headache. The idea of viral pneumonia doesn't sound fun and I have a bit of asthma. But I guess I wasn't afraid of this particular thing (there are, what, 3 known cases in Quebec?) It was more about having to possibly cancel things today - 2 classes to tutor and a restaurant reservation - but I woke up OK, just with a kind of sore throat.

The Boomer Broom is sweeping across the planet. Meanwhile, there's never been a cheaper time to fly. Woot! Might as well get it in before martial law goes into effect.

70-something known cases in Quebec and public buildings like libraries are closed. I was disappointed about things being canceled, but it makes sense. There are shortages of hospital space and ventilators in Italy. People don't want it to get to that point in Canada too. Most of my tutoring classes are online but I have to go in today for a new student. I'll keep my gloves on in the bus and metro - maybe overkill, but I don't want to be a plague-spreader (my cold is better though).

Our office has officially shut down to non-essential personnel. I'm now working from home to ensure that everyone still working on construction projects can still get their inspections done. Not new to me though. I've done this many times before..working from home that is, not the pandemic count. Self isolating is easy when you have been doing it all your life. Now I'm just keeping an eye on my wife.... .

Wow. Old familiar names. Awesome! Anyway, forgive my rant, and listen for the cry for help deep within: Self Quarantine Day 7: I literally moved my goofy ass cross country into a building where someone has this shit. I'm mad. I'm not going to be fired from my new job but I'm behind my classmates and my competitive nature can't allow this. Not to mention the financial hit I'm taking because all the overtime I was depending on is cancelled. Fuck it, finna chew these shrooms Then I'll mediate on breath... How we take the in and exhale for granted. How someone somewhere right now is drowning on dry land. How close this hits to home and how hopeless the survivors felt as their lungs became dense. Despaired. So lucky we are in this moment for our health How both luck and safety are illusions now. This is... overwhelming on so many levels. This might not be an occasion for shrooms. Too much fear swirling about. Maybe I'll just listen to my breath and heartbeat and be grateful for my troubles.

"I'd rather have a likely short flu and have maybe one or 2 ppl in my network who didnt take proper precautions die instead of ruining potentially years of the prime of my life" = a case someone actually made to me against social distancing. if i'd had any leftover doubts that she's a sociopath...

If only this weren't the key to the "turning_away"..blech. Covid 19 is just another example of how unimaginative our monied masters are. ("Oooo..that science fiction writer had a good idea! Let's get the eggheads and salespeople together and make it happen.")
