“The strange thing is we haven’t recorded any dead animals,” H.D. Ratnayake, deputy director of the national Wildlife Department, told Reuters on Wednesday. “No elephants are dead, not even a dead hare or rabbit,” “I think animals can sense disaster. They have a sixth sense. They know when things are happening.”

Animal sees the ocean drawing back for miles and goes, "oh fuck, here it comes" and books ass to high ground. Human sees the ocean drawing back for miles and goes, "hey, that's weird, I wonder how far out I can walk" and tries to find the water's edge. Animals pay attention to their environment. Humans ignore it.

Identifying the Beast

There is a man from Thailand who can lift 2 buckets of water with chains attached to hooks in his eyelids, and then spin them around. There is a man from France who eats broken glass, metal bolts and other strange things for entertainment. He has so far eaten 17 bicycles and as many TV sets, a bed, a coffin, and even a Cessna model 150 airplane (a world record).

I saw a video of monkey pick up his son and proceeded to beat another monkey profusely with his child. Once he was done, he took his now dead son up a tree and proceeded to eat him. Can't say I've ever heard of a human use their child as a weapon then eat their child. But I wouldn't put it past the human race. Humans are stupid.

i agree with jane in the fact that humans are animals, but not in the sense that i think she meant. i think she meant in the evolutionary sense, which i don't beleive, but i do beleive we are animals

We got all these words to clutter up our body language and scents as we move by instinct through social worlds of hierachical constructs, challenges. In the same of challenges and social vying to be esteemed, we are the same as any ape, meercat, goose or ectothermic shark communities of individuals with unique personalities from birth or hatching. Wisdom isn't a species trait but a measure of luck and success at decisions made over when and who to fight or struggle. Some natural leaders, alphas come forward in a group, either gaining dominence by beating others or protecting others wisely to be permitted to make more decisions because the last few worked out. On that macrolevel, humans and many animal communities function the same by the sense of good outcome not deterring and certain individuals either being marginalized from the group or given status on the basis of interactions that worked out positively for the whole or for key backers.

regarding the lack of animal deaths from the tsunami: is it that we lack something the animals have, or is the combination of : a)we are now too science / religion based to understand the mystic spirituality innately within us; & b) the animals have declining numbers and HUMANS ARE OVERPOPULATED at any rate, you YES YOU can recover the same sixth (and seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth, etc.) sense that the animals have; ask your cat/dog/bird/lizard/fish/plant/fungus to show you. it'll take a lifetime. :) probably you still have it and use it but the dictatorial force of science / religion demands you deny it
