flowerock. My_morning was this. Helped an elder man who is a veteran move the camper that he lives in because he doesn't have a truck. Another elder man who lives in the neighborhood came put to tell him that someone had called the police to tow it away, he was kind of angry and got a little agressive, but then also offered to help move the camper with his truck, offering a solution not just an agressive and a problem.

So 3 people came to offer help, a young guy, my partner and I, and this angry old man... in the end we moved it, some by hand (pulling a ducking camper trailer by hand... and steering it with two little wheels), and our van that the owner of the camper bought a hitch for.

Team_work. Community_service.

I hope it was the right thing to do, and I hope he or we find a longer term solution.

So good morning! Dragging a camper is a work out, starting my 28th year out right.

flowerock. Not sure if that's the sort of thing you were referring to, but it felt right.
Similar community work needs to happen on a much larger scale, along with that state_of_mind and view.

unhinged that is exactly what i mean

after finding out cops in your town are giving the homeless one way bus tickets to my town i am incensed, enraged

flowerock. I have not heard about any bus tickets... I've heard and seen that they are clearing the homeless off of the sidewalks and pushing them out of more and more areas. The techie babies don't like to see them and whine about it with their money.
Sending people with mental and drug problems somewhere else is not helping, the people need to be helped, and children and adults need to be guided in better directions before they reach those points, the system has to change if it wants different results.

unhinged of course you haven't heard about it; it's not like city officials in sf are advertising the fact that they are shipping your homeless somewhere else.

it was on the news here recently

flowerock. This is true, I'm not surprised. I don't see anything productive happening about the issue here. They just push them out of every place they find.
I'll admit to not really watching or listening to news often... I click on articles and talk to people in person. I am generally behind on news.

I know it's happening, and I know I see more homeless people where I am in the city, and by homeless I mean more agressive/mentally ill/high/stealing type homeless... I guess I feel there are different types of homelessness.

Some would consider me homeless I think and I'm hoping I'm not pushed out too.

flowerock. I think that even the kind of homeless (or people homeless or not) that bother me still should be helped. I don't know what the best way is, but I'm not trying to dismiss their humanity. I just really hate finding needles and human feces at the bus stop and on the sidewalk and having my stuff stolen or windows broken. 160226

flowerock. I don't know how to express my dislike for these issues without sounding like a whiney asshole... I feel like it's whining because I don't also have a solution or the means to offer anyone a long term solution.
Just moving them is not a solution either. And either is a giant tent that they're calling a shelter that I don't think is ecen open yet that no one wants to go to anyway... : /
