is it wrong that this isn't affecting me that much? that i'm not glued to my television watching memorials and speeches on the news? it just feels like any normal day. actually i'm quite cheerful today. an extra spring in my step, you could say.

I'm sorry, but I just don't really care. I will always remember where I was, and what happened, and no, I will never forget; my heart and prayers go out to all those touched and affected by the terrible tragedy. But isn't it time to lay the dead to rest? in memorium

I was in rhode island, trying to sleep off a fuck of a hangover, but the news playing loud kept waking me up. ultimately, i used it as an excuse to lay around and smoke a lot.

yeah, i heard someone on the radio call it patriot's day and so i called the dj and ripped him a new ass on the air about cheapening the deaths of 3000 plus people and all of the consequences that have come since then by turning it into an excuse for more mindless fear-born flag-waving. i could tell that they cut me off of the air a few seconds into my rant, though.... fucking Clear-Channel bastards

Hear! Hear! *oldephebe vigorously applauds* i'm not being at all sardonic or ironic really. getting tired of the demagogues hoaring out themselves and anything honorable to wave the red flag and Ka-ching! *oldephebe resumes his vigorous applause* ...

Patriots day? Yea. It's the day that marks the wake up call to freedom heard round the world. Some day they'll even know the patriots' names. History doesn't know them yet, but it will. As it is, these mindless nationalist b0zos wouldn't know a patriot if, while they were hiding under their desks, waving their cheap, plastic, fall-apart-at-60mph, normally-stuck-in-their-car-window-next-to-the-baby-on-board-sign-and-the-suction-cup-garfield flags waiting for the next bomb to go off, one came up to them and asked to borrow a lighter.

i hate the way, in two years, TWO YEARS, september 11th has become something our goverment uses to manipulate us. 'well, a lot of people died, and we felt terrible about it. so naturally the thing to do is go kill people in OTHER countries. no, of course it's not the same. don't be stupid. they aren't innocent americans.' argh. and my fucking school! we stop for a moment of silence during the day. four chimes. about 20 seconds. 20 FUCKING SECONDS!!!!!! 3000 people die and all we can take out of our oh-so-busy day is TWENTY SECONDS??? i hate my school.
