I closed the box early on, but it started out something like… She said something about the world being “disturbing,” and I asked how so. She said something about do I really need examples-look around. So I told her I guess I really don’t pay attention to things like that and this is what followed. shesays: yeah, pregnant and suicidal girls are easy to overlook. shesays: screw them, right? why pay attention? no big deal. Franky says: you misunderstood my statement Franky says: and i don't need to explain myself shesays: and i don't want you to. Franky says: sometimes people get sick of looking at crap and try to focus on things a bit more positive-and if i'm a bad person for doing so-i guess that's my problem shesays: i thought you weren't gonna explain? Franky says: i guess i changed my mind Franky says: but i shouldn't have shesays: no, it just makes it look like apathy. Franky says: when you care for so long-you get tired of it shesays: what would the world be like if everyone was like that... Franky says: at least i can be honest about it and admit it Franky says: a lot of people already are shesays: does God treat you like that? Franky says: like what? Franky says: yeah-he cares about me-he loves me Franky says: when you care for so long-you get tired of it Franky says: *her name which I’m editing out*-if i want to hear a sermon-i'll go to church-but i don't need to be preached to by other people-but thanks for caring shesays: i'm not preaching to you, sondra. (my name which I will leave in) Franky says: it seems like you were starting shesays: bad perception on your part. shesays: i'm just making the point that one of the reasons the world is the way it is is due to apathy. Franky says: God isn't human-God doesn't get tired-He's perfect and we are far from that Franky says: i'm not saying apathy is ok shesays: doesn't mean you're not supposed to try. Franky says: who's to say i didn't? shesays: no, i'm not talking about merely you. shesays: i'm just talking about people in general. me too. Franky says: yeah...i think most people try shesays: i guess i don't. Franky says: and most people give up or take a break or something-but there gets to be a point where if you give anymore of yourself-you'll be nothing but a pile of mush that's not good for anything because you're so worn down shesays: i guess i don't think that means you should stop trying. shesays: man, i'm sick of it, too. but i'm not gonna stop trying. then i'd just be doing something i hate. Franky says: i don't know-i've been accused of caring too much and been told to start taking myself into consideration-take care of my own problems first before i take care of everybody else's Franky says: and i've got plenty to fix shesays: who doesn't... Franky says: but i'm still there for the people who really need me Franky says: i know...that's the point-everybody is trying to fix everybody else-we know ourselves better than other people-we know what pieces go where-so why aren't we gluing ourselves together instead of having other people try to do it for us and they end up gluing our eyes to our butts shesays: it's easier to help others. Franky says: for a while shesays: i suppose it depends on the person. Franky says: mmhmm shesays: it's easier for me to help other people. at least then i feel like i'm getting something accomplished. Franky says: yeah-but you still have to take care of yourself shesays: it's not about me though. Franky says: it will be shesays: it shouldn't be. Franky says: when you get tired of going to friend's house at 3 in the morning to keep them from slitting their wrists and you're about to do it yourself because you're sick of looking at everybody else's crap on top or your's Franky says: then Franky says: it's about you shesays: man, can i relate to that. Franky says: because you can't get a knife out of somebody else's hand when you've got a gun in your own shesays: then at least you have something to think about. that you're trying to stop someone else, so you know you can't. shesays: you want to, but you can't. Franky says: and if you can't-why try Franky says: until you know you can shesays: and i come back to the conclusion it's disturbing. Franky says: disturbing-yes-but that's life-and people get used to it Franky says: and that's disturbing too shesays: that shouldn't be what it's about though. getting used to it. shesays: yeah, i agree. Franky says: but that's how people deal with it shesays: i guess it's not any better than looking at someone's problems and realizing you have the same ones. Franky says: who's problems do you fix first? shesays: what do you mean? Franky says: well-if you fix your own you're selfish-if you fix their's you're a hypocrite shesays: i agree. shesays: you can't win either way. Franky says: right-so-you be selfish for a while and then help others be selfish so they can fix their problems too shesays: i guess that's where apathy comes in. people don't want to be selfish and they don't want to hypocritic. so they just don't care any more. Franky says: i can agree with that shesays: yeah..
