unhinged tech snobs are covering seattle like a fungus; spreading everywhere leaving hate crimes and crawling traffic in their wake

i haven't been here for THAT long but the flood of bros is making me incurably irritated

flowerock I wonder how many other cities are having this issue. I wonder how long it can persist before it is really confronted by the people who are native and local to these places, or if the tech _ snobs will win and push alot of people out and down... I am learning more and more how these cities are not just cities and tourist destinations but home to many, starting to be home to me as I am really humbled and warming up to this 0lace despite all my previous ignorant complaints. 151107

unhinged well, i think the main hubs of it are the sf metro and seattle metro areas. it is becoming just as bad here as where you are. on one hand it makes me really angry. i am getting burned_out from being so damn irritated all the time. (i am taking a really awesome online meditation course this weekend and starting a six week course on the sadhana_of_mahamudra on monday so i am at least trying to be productive with my anger management solutions)

i voted for a socialist for city council. she rocked at trying to keep seattle from totally downsliding into the situation that the bay area is currently in, but i couldn't vote for her in this election and i'm not sure if she won. of course, corporate entities from every angle created a pac to make sure she didn't get elected but she was in a district race in the lgbtq part of the city so maybe she eeked through. i will check as soon as i post this.

i am currently trying to open my heart to the fact that not everyone is gonna agree with me and that is ok. but, the more my rent goes up and the harder it becomes to find a better place to live, the more i find myself resenting the tech snobs that amazon is paying to overrun seattle and also resenting the fact that i am considered subhuman by these people because i have a service job. i am a socialist. i believe in true equality, not hierarchy of professions. and considering the way tech companies have degraded our society, i find it really easy to point a blaming finger.

i am going to surround myself with like_minded people and see if that can help alleviate some of my stress.

nr i was assigned a magazine to edit in the new year that's based in silicon valley. i've heard that place is so full of these people that it's hard to find a luddite like me. 151107

unhinged i was just talking to another skite tonight about how i feel like i have to join more social networking and/or dating apps to meet people because everyone here is so busy 'networking' through devices that they don't notice the real people all around them. on the bus, at the bar, (and i am guilty of it too as i read a book or blathe on my phone), everyone is interfacing with devices and not humans.

i need to start smile_at_strangers again

flowerock Some of the People we are calling tech snobs are just people who need work and accepted a job here or there, I've met some who were actually decent and interesting people but just worked in that field... the make good money but are often not happy in their job either and even with their income find it difficult to afford living in this city...

People_on_their_phones, it seems like talking to anyone is just too strange, like most are just uncomfortable with it or irritated that they have been distracted from their phones or headphones or own thoughts. I understand that not everyone wants to or feels they have time to talk, but shouldn't someone out of all the people I see every day? I feel like the only people I've talked with or made friends with since.moving out here have been Co workers, because we are stuck together for hours and cooperating rather than playing on the internet.
