sameolme the question is: Do you purposely highlight your emotional anguish/euphoria in your blathes to make them more compelling, or are hormones akin to pot
,in that they are a lot more powerful than when I was young?

sameyungme the answer is: maybe you're just old, and out of touch, and don't remember what it was like to be a teenager. 040310

birdmad i think maybe we do highlight the more turbulent aspects of ourselves, and while i recognize that eventually, readuing through all of that turmoil can be exhausting, the endlessly idyllic and happy is typically equally hard to read through unless it is written by someone with a real ability to sell it.

Someone, either an actor or comedian once said that tragedy was easier than comedy

girl_jane I think it is partly because people tend to write more about the shitty things. They need to get those feelings out and don't always want to share them with people face to face. So they come here.

I think the other part is that you have forgotten what it's like to fully give into your emotions.

I'm only 18. I know I'm still very young, and I probably am overly dramatic much of the time. I'm studying theatre-hopefully I'll never lose my ability to give in to feeling. However, I know I'm nowhere near what an 8 year old is.

I remember watching my younger siblings, Their facial expressions are big and exact. Everything is said with great importance and intensity. My little sister's in love with two or three different boys in her class.

Innocence is an art.

In one of my classes the other day, my professor Peter was telling us that as artists, we can't grow up.

We have to maintain many childlike qualities like curiousity and the ability to feel-fucking PASSION!

x I think a lot of us write here because we have strong feelings that we feel the need to express, but feel we are unable to do so in "the real world". (my mom says i won't be in the real world until i start paying taxes) People who are drawn here often suffer from depression. I doubt it is so much about our age, but more about the type of personality this type of forum attracts. 040310

sameolme ok thanks, like every thing, theres not just one simple answer, everythings linked. But after reflecting a bit I realized that I asked that question because I had reached my limit on emotional honesty and had to try and shut it down, when I came across a couple of blathes that were obviously histrionic, I used them as an excuse to trivialize what I was, am experiencing which is a lot of empathic pain, mingling with and provoking my own. 040311
