my confidence?
my confidence comes not from knowing that i could have her if i wanted to, but rather from the knowledge that were i to pursue anything it would unquestionably result in an association so meaningless and vapid that all appeal in the short term is lost and the thought of any such relationship gaining permanence becomes positively revolting. so really, given the consideration, why bother to invest myself at all? the strange thing is that it has nothing to do with her personally; it's just how i feel about the thought of two people getting involved with each other in general.
so i guess you could say that my confidence stems from a deeply rooted lack of faith. boom.
