my favorite roaster here will do french press service of any of their coffee anytime for a stupidly higher cost or they brew one kind strong and one kind mild everyday i tried the french press service one day; even though it yielded a few cups full the cost didn't seem worth it somehow

i like really strong, borderline espresso, coffee. maybe i just didn't let my french press steep long enough. maybe i should give it another try, this_time_with_patience

Yeah've done the French presser thingy. Still my preffered method is to heat water, pour freshly ground beans into my sterilized gallon_sized pickle jar... add_hot_water (not boiling) and let sit 4aYL. Sunflower_Market ha s upplied a bitter amount of coffee to my mornings. Fairtrade_organic el_Salvador or Peruvian, roast_light (more_caffeine) 6.99_lb depending on how much of a warrior I'm feeling like I'll use my fine filter, my course_meshed round drain catcher (used only for foodstuffs) or I'll go sans_filter

best coffee I've made for myself yet- in the little cone with a cloth filter, medium/finely ground, and just poured the water in. it filtered through in 10 seconds, and tasted perfect. who knew? i'll be putting away my french-press now.

my coffee usually tastes like soap residue, when i make it. i'm still unsure as to whether this is due to actual soap. my last coffee maker was ruined when plaster of paris dust got into the system. i learned not to store the appliance in rooms where i was doing construction. i tried cleaning it out with baking soda... let's just say i threw that coffee maker out. it's not that fun waking up with a hangover, craving a cup o'joe and drinking something akin to laundry detergent. once, i made the perfect cup...but i think in reality it was my boyfriend who did that...

grind when ready to brew, use cold, pure water, use non-paper filter, drink immediately.

At the local Asian supermarket I bought one of those tiny metal brewer/filters that sit on top of the cup-- makes pretty good/strong coffee, but only small portions (like 4oz?), leaving it the perfect brewing method for the stronger/darker roasts. So I stick to my small french press. Most days I boil the water, grind the 2.5 T of (local/organic/family run/yummy) coffee beans, and while it's brewing for 3.5-4 minutes in the french press I heat up the (soy or raw cow's) milk in the saucepan, add cinnamon/cardamom/clove/tumeric, add a t of coconut oil if using soy milk, add maple syrup. Pour into mug, press coffee and pour into mug. And my day begins.
