fyn gula when puppertwinkle observed frau werzenwozen whispering to the spegnere, he figured it to be some form of a judgmental critique on saumboo's little speech about love and blindness, never did he imagine such a calculated malicious plan of attack. his initial reaction at the horror unraveling around him was to warn saumboo and that's why he yelled,
"watch out!" totally forgetting his blindness. he just wished he could have been human and thrown his body forward and push saumboo out of the way.

it was too late for wishing, for tangible magic from odd clatter, for altering the rigid path of destiny. the unexpected devious intent was so quick and surprising there wasn't anything anyone could do to stop it.

as the dust settled and puppertwinkle shook himself from the dizziness of his fall, he rushed to saumboo who was clutching his right leg and moaning with intense pain. he hoped he could somehow bring comfort, even if it was minimal. he felt it so frustrating to be a prisoner of such a small body, limited to four legs, no hands to help, no strong arms to lift, only a tongue that could lick and communicate concern or affection, although he knew he had continuously bad breath. so he sat next to him whining, trembling, and walking around in circles, murmuring that everything was going to be alright, even though he didn't have a clue.

frau werzenwozen still stood holding the reins smirking. she appeared satisfied with the results. the spegnere looked away with guilt and embarrassment, wanting nothing more than to shed the ridiculous crow costume and run the fuck away. but it was the dandelion and the tulip, who upon feeling a wave of compassion wash over them, leaped from the back of the wooden cart.

as you might think, this was not easy for them as flowers, even human ones rarely, if ever, walk, let alone jump. yet, just as mothers of small children, under great surges of supernatural surges of adrenaline lift cars to save lives in times of accident, so the impossible happens.

the dandelion moved spider-like, using his long, strong roots as legs to transport himself. his gait was a mixture of short and wide steps, an erratic dance to some bogo music played by a trippyhippy. the tulip's locomotion was similar to a pogo stick. she just hopped about, using her bulb as a powerful spring to propel her forward to saumboo's rescue.

the dandelion reached him first. bending down easily, he gathered saumboo in his leaf arms, whispering gentle commiserations. the tulip caught puppertwinkle off guard, snatching him up, giving him a quick kiss with her two lips and then rolling him up in her smooth, flowing leaf arms like a burrito. all you could see were his shifty, googly eyes sticking out.

"put zem in zee cart," frau werzenwozen said. "it is time vee vent to eyesland."
