Can't say I believe in the planets governing genes or anything like that, but it was one of those "Psyche" moments. 010606 ... Dafremen Heheh you're not alone man. Alot of minds have been blown by that book, present company included. My son is a Taurus and looong before I ever saw this book the one thing we were ALWAYS saying to him was "You need to control yourself Dave." I have a soft spot in my heart for Taurus people. They are the people that make dreams HAPPEN. People like me just sit around and dream things up and never do anything about em. Thank gawd for Tauruses. By the way, just to clarify, astrolgoy does NOT state that the planets govern our genes. What astrology states is that we are made of the same stuff as everything around us. As Earthbound creatures we share our physical makeup with EVERYTHING on Earth. (I spent 3 days coming up with a list of things around me that were NOT made of Earth. It was a list of two and I'm not even sure about one of those.) Well since we, and everything around us is made of the same stuff, it stands to reason that our ENVIRONMENT (including the sun and the moon and the earth and the planets around us) in various PHYSICAL ways can affect our personalities in a very observable and predictable manner. Now here's the important part: In all PROBABILITY. (Remember it's based on past observation not fortune telling.) Does that mean we're all the same? NO. Physical influences are just ONE part of what makes us each who we are, there's more to our personalities than the basic impulses of our makeup. It's what makes the book not so accurate for some as for others. Regardless, astrology teaches us that by KNOWING our inherent flaws and talents we can then strive to suppress the first and nurture the second. Astrology also teaches that by striving to understand the way OTHER people see the world and are likely to react to it, we can better understand their behavior and by so doing make both them and ourselves less miserable. Humanistic astrology is a science plain and simple. It's the science of observation of human beings. As for horoscopes and predictive astrology, I still haven't decided yet.
