dB I'm not going to say anything about action or reaction or condemn anyone until I have all the information in front of me.

When I first heard about this it was 8am, it's now 12pm. I woke up to the radio going and the news came on. I'm lying in bed hearing this little report and I thought it was a joke or something. The station I listen to has a thing about strange jokes. After about 5 minutes, I thought it wasn't funny any more and dashed into the lounge to check CNN. Just in time to see the second tower disappear in a cloud of dust.
The last 4 hours I have been crawling through several official and unofficial channels of the internet and watching several channels of TV at once. When shit like this goes down, it's best to be certain you are playing with a full deck before you start.
I've cencelled al my appointments for today so I can get my head around this.

I'm deeply effected by what has happened. I feel diminished at the loss of so many lives at once. But remember, if America acts prematurely on this, there could be serious problems. You have to bring all the facts and possible effects into account.

For your country, i send my deepest sympathy and regret (even if it makes no difference).

I'll be back with a full report later.

*Much Peace* (now more than ever, we need it).

kingsuperspecial I think the sentiment that this is AMERICA's problem is a bit naieve. Do you think there won't be a call to polarize world politics? this isn't a car bomb, or someone taking a few hostages. Sure, America is often the target, because we're the biggest and the most visable, but that could easily change. Hopefully, if there is a call to other nations to help figure this out, the world will face what is happening with an equal sense of responsibility. World_War_three might not happen in the traditional way, and there is a lot of terror left to deal out should the zealot feel there cause is justified. 010911

silentbob It was a day of horror, in which people jumped out windows scores of stories above the ground to avoid being burned alive or buried in tons of steel.

A man who answered the phone on the trading floor of broker Cantor Fitzgerald located near the top of the World Trade Center said, ``We are fucking dying!'' when asked what was happening. There was screaming and yelling in the background.

kingsuperspecial I think I spelled "Naive" wrong.

I also find it amusing that people look at how this affects themselves, and what they might do as a reaction.

maybe we should be thinking about how this affects everyone, and what SHOULD do to be PRO-ACTIVE in promoting an end to this sort of ugliness.
