_madness
oh no not me quoting kierkegaard "Do you not know that there comes a midnight hour when everyone has to throw off his mask? Do you believe that life will always let itself be mocked? Do you think you can slip away a little before midnight in order to avoid this? Or are you not terrified by it? I have seen men in real life who so long deceived others that at last their true nature could not reveal itself; I have seen men who played hide and seek so long that at last madness through them obtruded disgustingly upon others their secret thoughts which hitherto they had proudly concealed. Or can you think of anything more frightful than that it might end with your nature being resolved into a multiplicity, that you really might become many, become, like those unhappy demoniacs, a legion, and you thus would have lost the inmost and holiest thing of all in a man, the unifying power of personality? Truly, you should not jest with that which is not only serious but dreadful." Soren Kierkegaard 011103

Dafremen Actually, in the grand scheme of things..it is immediately pointless to choose fear of something which
A) Cannot be avoided.
B) In the grand scheme of things, was simply part of the show and of no lasting consequence.
C) Is dread of returning to where we've already been. We've ALREADY BEEN THERE FOR GAWD SAKE! What's to be a fraid of? PUT me in a pine box or hell, just dig a hole. Imagine that rich pharoah whose matter will lie in it's wrappings for another 3000 years, the rich banker whose ashes are now orbiting the planet in a test tube along with thousands of others or lying frozen in a laboratory, surrounded by cement and metal. What purpose does that serve? Graffiti? Art? A goodbye letter? Good enough, but let's not make our quest to be something that we're not into fear of returning to our point of origin.

D) Is time spent in dreadful contemplation rather than joyful celebration and of your own free will no less. Assuming you have this one shot at appreciating it all, which do you choose? Do you choose to be frightened by losing that which you never had until this lifetime? So what if it is taken away? There'll be other shots...forever is a mighty long time.
Do you choose to be dazzled by what the universe has brought to be? Or what man has brought to be?
In either event the creation of the creator's creation remains the creator's creation. Ir's your time, you can appreciate it, or piss and moan because there isn't enough of it. You can piss it away talking about Bobby's piercings and Susie's cha-chas for that matter. Either way, you're playing a part, it'd be a shame if we end up taking the gift that is human life away from the other stuff that we share this planet and this existence with. It's awful cool being aware. Really though....so why be afraid? There's plenty of time and chances at life and awareness to go around for everything. Better to just let go of THIS here and now, when the time comes and jump into that river.

Until then...enjoy YOUR turn and help others to enjoy THEIRS. Pretty simple steps to paradise if you ask me.
