endless desire Ashley Olsen.
((People Magazine--50 Most Beautiful People))
"Asked if she thinks she's beautiful, she says, 'No. Does anyone?' Then she pauses. 'I think my sister is beautiful,' she says."

They are identical twins.
That just shows you how blind people can be.

verletzt i am not blind to it, but i guess that it is my hell to be so keenly aware of beauty but be so bereft of it myself and not just in its outward aspects.

i am not blind to beauty but beauty is blind to me that is none in common

pobodys nerfect Or it could just be that when she said her sister was beautiful, she might not have been referring to her looks, but rather as how she is as a whole person.
In high school,I was friends with Craig, who had an identical twin named Phillip. In appearance, obviously they looked the same, they even sounded alike. But where Phillip was cold and distant(and stuck up),Craig was warm and friendly and never acted like he was better than anyone else. He was definately the more beautiful person of the two, and it had NOTHING to do with his looks.

There's also another theory about what Ashley Olsen said. Identical twins are never completely "identical". There are often tiny differences in their face shape, eyes, etc. Maybe Ashley has what she perceives as a "flaw" appearance wise, and thinks it makes her look ugly compared to her sister. For example, I have a cousin Katie who has two different coloured eyes. Most people would probably think that would be neat to have, but SHE thinks they're weird.

And finally, maybe the reporter didn't print everything she said. Anything a celebrity says in an interview can be edited.

endless desire i don't know. what i meant to be saying in all of this is a lot like what pobody said in her second paragraph. . .that people pick tiny flaws in themselves and blow them out of proportion. for instance, when i read the article it said that she had a freckle somewhere near her nose but her twin didn't. maybe she obsesses over the freckle. haha i don't know! it was just a thought. and i really don't think anyone can say they aren't deep. we don't know. we haven't met them. well actually i did once when i was four. i had this controlling friend named katie who wouldn't let me be friends with anyone else. i went to her birthday party and the olsen twins where there. it was a small party too and we all played barbies together. they gave her the same present. . .it was like, dog walking barbie or something. i just remember that pissing me off. 030625

x was phillip that way because he wanted to be? i don't think one person is more beautiful than another, inside or out. i think we are all shaped by our world. if he was cold and distant, maybe he had reason. maybe he had been hurt. i've heard that description about people (cold, distant, stuck up) about people who were actually just shy. no wonder they were shy with others being so judgemental about them. 030625
