If you fall asleep next to a prickly tree and wake up next to a not prickly tree this would be serendipity.

I had a picture book. The kind that you can literally love when you are very very small. All purple and about a sea creature named Serendipity (also the title of the book). It was about how she was found, and where her name came from (I suppose she was found serendipitously). I was a bright kid but I couldn't read the word from context. It seemed beautiful, though. Serendipity had beautiful long eyelashes. Everyone loved her. Serendipity seemed purple the way soap bubbles are. It was strange to not be able to easily grasp the meaning. I'd been reading since two and a half. I didn't know what it was not to know something in books. Maybe that was why I loved it so.

serendipity my love, serendipity you keep me alive and provide relief when the radio plays a set of all your favorite songs, back to back and commercial free when someone smiles at you unexpectedly, out of the blue, and is genuinely happy love in the form of hundreds of small post-it notes that cover your car, each inscribed with a reason for my loving you free kisses on the nose flowers freshly picked, covered with love running, falling, swimming, laughing, drinking in raindrops. pouring rain. you soaking wet, me soaking wet, nowhere to go and nothing but the moment we are breathing in together these are/could be/would be/should be mine. mine. mine. my serendipity

It was so romantic, but childish all the same. I want to be a little kid again. Serendipity : the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for.
