i just read this book. Holy shit. Holyshitholyshitholyshit. I've never been affected in quite that way by ANYTHING. Normally, I'm not flipped out by much I read or see. I read Chuck Palahniuk, who's pretty offbeat, and the stuff in his books doesn't bother me. I watch very violent movies and rarely cringe. But this book, oh no, this is something entirely different. Sometimes, in the middle of pages, I would have to stop because I just couldn't take it anymore. Sometimes, I felt like I was going to be physically sick if I read any more. I came close to throwing up at least twice. The sex was graphic, the violence was worse, far worse. Why did I keep reading it? It's as if it was badly written, or uninteresting. It was fascinating, it's just that I was also completely disturbed and disgusted by it. Read it sometime and tell me what you think. also, on a side note, I've heard it's a creepy but good movie. Anyone seen it?

THIS IS NOT AN EXIT

It's not bad, but it can't quite live up to some of the weirdness in the book "today on the Patty winters show a Cheerio was the special guest and i was astounded at how articulate it was, being interviewed in in its tiny chair"

Read and then watch (in this order) Less_than_Zero The_Rules_of_Attraction American_Psycho Though they are separate stories, there are some slight thematic connections between Rules and Less than Zero and then the connection between Rules and Psycho is that one of the central characters is Patrick Bateman's brother

sounds great, smurfus. i had a number of water_brothers tell me that i needed to see this movie, that i specifically needed to view it. it came to the brew and view, and i was in love in the first few minutes. they were right. i was high on glee and disturbance by the time i left. amzaning.

hmm, interesting, because i think that he would have done a really good job. but there was something about it being christian bale, who wasn't a "star" at that point, that made it even more believeable. whenever stars are chosen it can be difficult to forget you're watching a movie.

after winter break the 3 boys (michael matt max) watched it, and matt was convinced that michael was patrick- well, they looked a like, and michael did have violent fantasies as we later found out. but for a couple of months, almost every time I would visit them, american_psycho movie would be playing.
