i hate the situation i am trying desperately to avoid....
i hate the tangle of emotions bouncing in my head...
i hate that i can't make any sense of whats going on in this crazy life of mnie right now....
but...

... but it's all good, all the time. I am the most optimistic pessimist you're likely to meet. I believe that humans, on the whole, are greedy, selfish, thoughtless, inconsiderate, and destructive, and that we are all eventually doomed because of it, and that all of these qualities square with each doubling of group size.
A person, alone, is only a little so. Two people, four times so. 500 morons in the US Congress is trouble looking for a place to happen (kx, shut up). Add a couple thousand registered lobbyists to the mix, and Armegeddon is upon us.
And so on.
But in spite of that, or maybe because of it, I really believe that it's all good, all the time. Some of the most singularly beautiful things that mankind is capable of happen as a direct result of some of the most brutal. Usually when one person, forcibly cut off from the herd, is tormented to the point that ?e is left with no recourse but to perform something so utterly selfless, so utterly poetic in action, that ?e becomes revered as what we all should be.
Of course, it makes an inroad here and there, but on the whole we usually just go right back to what we were before, snapping like a rubber band. Incredible, isn't it? We truly are the marvels of the cosmos. Any creature given the ability to learn, evolve, adapt, and progress as we have, just so we can figure out how to take ourselves out in the most spectacular manner possible (see: defunct)... there just aren't words.
Which leaves us with this: All you can do is enjoy who you are, what you are, and where you are as much as you possibly can, in every way and every day, because none of us shall pass this way again.
