Seven years down the road and a total of around 125 titles can be found in the catalogue, and by the end of the year that total will most likely be around 150. There's no stopping us now! What Burning Heart is about is strength thru diversity with music ranging from melodic punk to the meanest & hardest hardcore imaginable, to progressive new noise terrorism, danceable ska & rock steady rhythms, soul filled alternative pop to straight and honest street/oi! punk and whatever that can be found in between. All this presented with a burning ambition to release the best an alternative world can offer. We have come a long way since the modest one-man-operation start in 1993. Today 13 people work at BHR, and our records are released and available on all continents through label-deals in Japan (JVC), South America (Pinhead) and Australia (Shock). Especially noteworthy is a north American deal with Epitaph, which means several of our albums yearly is released, promoted and marketed from the Epitaph head office in LA. After the overwhelming un-expected (?!) success of MILLENCOLIN and REFUSED, a whole bunch of upstart bands are now standing in line to conquer America. BOMBSHELL_ROCKS, LIBERATOR, 59_TIMES_THE_PAIN and SATANIC_SURFERS have all recently had their albums released by Epitaph, and are just the vanguards, so be warned and prepared... Y2K as it's so nifty is called, is an interesting year for all of us. Except all the releases that already are common knowledge when you read this (the fantastic new MILLENCOLIN album for instance…), the spring includes the much anticipated debut album from Dennis Lyxzen's (ex REFUSED's) new forum THE_INTERNATIONAL_nOISE_ CONSPIRACY. Expect much more than a one-man show though as this collective musical unit will be a real force to be reckoned with. The same month (April), one of Burning Hearts real heavyweights, NO_FUN_AT_ALL, unleash their fourth album ("State Of Flow"). So will the second album from teenage-mutant garage punk rock love gods THE_HIVES ("Veni, Vedi, Vicious"), cocky underdogs who will soon play the major league. Other hot ones late spring/early summer are new albums from RAISED_FIST ("Ignoring The Guidelines"), LIBERATOR ("Too Much Of Everything"), the debut album from Sweden's finest reggae/rock steady crew THE_CIGARRES and dito from hardcore offspring's SECTION8. A Burning Heart release that will surprise many is the "Modern Day City Symphony" from LOOPTROOP. Now, if hip-hop is your bag of chips, the said record is really a must have. Dis us for this release if you dare (or care…), but we are now taking the strength thru diversity concept even further by signing this up and coming combo. LOOPTROOP from Västerås, Sweden is without doubt one of most talked about and happening underground hip hop acts in Europe right now, and the "Modern Day City Symphony" album on Burning Heart/David versus Goliath Records definitely won't change that. In September, we are going to release a new SAMIAM album called "Astray". It was actually five years since they recorded the last one, but in April they are at it again with the help of Tim O'Heir (who has produced Sebadoh, Folk Implossions, Buffalo Tom etc). Can't wait to hear that one. The autumn will be hot too. New albums by BOMBSHELL_ROCKS (who's debut on Sidekicks, by the way, might be one of the best punk rock albums ever), 59_TIMES_THE_PAIN and RANDY (our latest signing who's back catalogue, three albums, will be re-released this spring) among others can be expected.
