It's been 98-105 degrees here since May. Big Deal- it makes the golf balls fly farther... How about some tasty iced tea?

oh- and if your high (not drunk) on whatever, the heat matters a lot less. Depending on your choice of high, it can actually be beneficial.

That sweet SF fog rolls in every night - nature's air conditioning. The ocean keeps things pretty chilly hear in general. Even in the summer, I wear a snappy leather jacket that I bought at a flea market in Provence when I was working in France. It can even get drizzly at night, and there is a pretty strong wind from time to time. During the day, the sun burns the fog off at about 11 am each day, more so in the East Bay than in the city itself. We get a high temp of about 78 on a hot day, usually averages somewhere about 73 degrees. If you go over the hills to Orinda or Walnut Creek, out in the Central Valley, where they grow the avocados and the garlic and the broccoli and the cows, it get's pretty darn hot, like the desert. That's where the cowboys live, like John Wayne and Ronald Reagan. There almost no humidity, of course, so we miss out on the mosquitos and the sweating and all that. It's hotter in LA, because the ocean is warmer down there and they get much less fog. Just though I'd give you the left coast perspective on weather, to compare notes. Want to see SF for yourself? Here's the local news services live web cams of downtown SF. http://www.sfgate.com/liveviews/ here's a shot of some of the traffic. Check at rush hour some day (PST) to see what you would be facing as you claw your way to work, trying not to spill your Starbucks on the interior of you new Lexus. This is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Rent right now is about 1000/person, give or take. Average home price in a decent neighborhood hovers right around $400K-$600K, gasoline is right a $2/gallon, and a fifth of Wild Turkey is about $15 at the supermarket. You can buy hard alcohol in the supermarket here, I rember that sort of freaked me out when I moved here from Vermont in 1993. As you can see, this is a terrible place to live, so please DO NOT MOVE HERE! it's too crowded already.

it's about 80 in kansas city right now. it has been unseasonably chilly this week. i love it. usually at this time of year it's 99 degrees with a heat index of something rediculous like 110 to 113.
