REAListic optimIST I've been reading "God_is_a_Verb" by David A. Cooper and "Be_Here_Now" by Baba_Ramm_Dass along with the books I must read for my Master's degree studies. However, I must admit that I do carve out time for one television show, and that show is Heroes. 071125

birdmad i have a TV, but it gets used less as a TV than as the viewing monitor for my DVD player as i am something of a film collector and as the means by which i keep my aggressions safely vented with an array of First Person Shooter games for my old Xbox

Beyond that, of late i am trying to write a pair of horror/fantasy stories that i have had bouncing around the inside of my skull for the last couple of years

my most recent reads are:

Burroughs' "Naked Lunch"
Miller's "Tropic of Camcer" and "Topic of Capricorn"
Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" and "No Country for Old Men"
Musashi's "Book of Five Rings"
and i am currently making another run at trying to read through the entirety of both the Quiche Mayan creation story "Popol Vuh" and the Bhagavad Gita.

the few programs i do watch on TV are "Heroes" "CSI" and the Anime shows "Bleach" "Blood+" and "Death Note"

ruby so?
you've finished it?
thoughts?

i loved how he talked about the ability to multiply two large numbers together and seeing each number as an individual shape and hue, then the two meshing to form the new larger number, again with it's own distinctive shape and color. i wish my brain handled numbers like that!

been enjoying mcsweeneys_quarterly myself...23-25 in particular. and anything by the mr. and dr. doris haggis-on-whey...

happy new year
