You may not want to be, and you may not like it, but you are. We are stoners. And we are judged by one another's activities. It doesn't matter if you smoke once a day, once a week, once a year, or once in your life. When you smoke weed, you take an unspoken oath to be loyal to the rest of us forever. You take an unspoken oath to never bust us out. Some people may refer to their past pot smoking as a mistake or a phase. These people are liars and backstabbers. These people have denounced us, I will not mention any names PRESIDENT CLINTON. We claim no loyalty to these people. If you try to hurt us, then we will remember it. We will not try to hurt you back, you see, we are way too calm to try and get revenge. We only ask to live in peace with our weed. We did not make our drug illegal. We did not invent the reputation that goes with smoking an illegal drug. It is not our fault that we have to commit a crime. We do not try to harm society. We don't hide in the bathroom like crackheads or urinate on city buses like alcoholics. We smoke our weed and then we leave you alone. You teach people that we are lazy, that we are stupid, that we have no ambition. We are very inspired and ambitious people and we have never done anything to deserve their disrespect. You make people that we love look down on us because you have brainwashed them with misinformation about marijuana. You take the small percentage of pot smokers who abuse the drug and base your opinions of everyone on what they do. The bigger percentage of us smoke it as a recreation, but we can never escape the ignorance of people who never smoked it. We do not carry guns. We do not kill people in search of our drug. We do not commit crimes against people. Not one of us has ever been hospitalized for an addiction to marijuana. Not one of us has ever died from using our drug. People who smoke marijuana are stoners. People who smoke marijuana in addition to other drugs are drug users. People who are addicted to one or more of these drugs are drug addicts. You teach people that they are all the same thing, and we did nothing to deserve it. We never hurt anyone. The only thing we did was smoke a joint and sit calmly in our homes. Unlike alcoholics, crackheads, and heroin addicts, we know when we have had too much of our drug. You say that our drug makes us antisocial. We would not act antisocial if we did not have to hide our use of marijuana from our family and employers because you made it illegal. We are only criminals because you make us criminals. Were it not for your ignorance and lack of education we would be model citizens. We want respect, the same respect that we are forced to give you. We want people to stop preaching about the non-existent dangers of our drug.
