absolutely mad

lovely m_a_d_n_e_s_s indeed. "i've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years, been over the edge for yonks, been working me buns off for bands..." "i've always been mad, i know i've been mad, like the most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad..." "live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, hahahaaaaaa!" "and i am not frightened of dying, any time will do, i don't mind. why should i be frightened of dying? there's no reason for it; you've gotta go sometime." "i never said i was frightened of dying." "huhuh! i was in the right!" "yes, absolutely in the right!" "i certainly was in the right!" "you was definitely in the right. that geezer was cruising for a bruising!" "yeah!" "why does anyone do anything?" "i don't know, i was really drunk at the time!" "i was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. he was asking why he wasn't coming up on freely, after i was yelling and screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely. it came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out." "i mean, they're not gonna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won't do it again. dig it? i mean he get off lightly, 'cos i would've given him a thrashing - i only hit him once! it was only a difference of opinion, but really...i mean good manners don't cost nothing do they, eh?" "i can't think of anything to say except... i think it's marvellous! hahaha!" "there is no dark side of the moon really. matter of fact it's all dark."

I grew up on this album. Hearing it makes me remember being three years old.

as of now, i'm 19 i wore a t-shirt with the 'dark side of the moon' logo on it to work. i work at a shit job which a bunch of people that are twice my age. of the four people who saw it, three of them said it was an awesome album -- that they would be listening to it now if they weren't working at a shit job. now that is a truly timless series of songs... i mean, something that can bridge two generations just boggles my mind.. wait no, something that REALLY boggles my mind... reminds me of this time i saw a homie [in the words of ms.swan [he.. he.. he looka like a thug]] in a pizza joint, and Cream - S.W.L.A.B.R [she walks like a bearded rainbow] came on and they guy started air-guitaring.. Of course, i recognized the song insantly and i was just looking across the room, and i see this homie, air guitaring.. truly amazing i bet he didn't know -- or even care for that matter -- that the song was some 30+ years old.. it still rocks
