miniver I cleaned my average-sized bathroom for 5 hours last night (last night/this morning). The second (half-)bathroom I finally started at 4:00 AM and quit at about 6:30 AM -- I still have 2 walls, the floor, the outer portion of the toilet, and 1/3 of the ceiling left to wash.

I took each little glass shelf out of each compartment of each medicine cabinet (3 little glass shelves X 2 compartments X 2 medicine cabinets = 12 little glass shelves altogether), and scrubbed them thoroughly with a special, rubbery sort of pink cloth. I cut my hands 4 times, in 4 different places, each leaving its own unique artistic interpretation of tiny-little-injury. One bled; one gapes open deeply when I bend my right index finger; one looks like a paper cut, and the other like a cement burn.

I went over the shower/bath tiles three times, paying meticulous attention to each stage -- once with a rough little "brush" thing, once with a cloth, and, lastly, a healthy rinse. I used one type of soap with the brush, a different type with the cloth. They still don't look quite clean enough, but everything should be okay.

I got soaked when I turned the tap on, not noticing that it was still set to the shower head. I turned it off, made a okay-thank-you-that's-exactly-what-i-needed-right-now sarcastic smile to the shower, then began again (this time without the shower).

And, although typically quite ambidextrous, I noticed, upon accumulative hours of scrubbing, that my right arm was being favoured over my left. I made the decision at that point (somewhere between the tiles and the floor) to keep myself positioned at a more lefty-accessible inclination. Now both of my wrists feel approximately equally abused.

I had a strawberry parfait for breakfast. I dressed in a long black skirt with a tall, tall slit. I gave my cat soft food -- beef, actually -- instead of his usual dry stuff (mostly because I'd locked him out on the deck all night/morning). I stopped short on the little walkway leading up to the office to watch two little bunnies because two little bunnies had stopped short to watch me -- but they quickly moved on, not quite peering long enough to foster further investigation into what may or may not have been the i-know-the-secrets-of-the-universe animal stare.

So, here I am, and today is apparently Wednesday.
