Imagine a world, connected to everything, a world where everyone eats at the same restuarants, shops at the same malls, listens to the same music. A world where whats trendy in on place is trendy in another. Imagine a world where even when you travel 8,000 miles around the globe you still watch the same shows, eat the same food, and drink the same beer. A world where the internet has killed us. A world where uniformity and comfort outweigh original thought and learning through experience. A world where travel means staying in hostels halfway around the world to walk through shops and look at buildings that have been dressed up to suit the requirements of the modern eye rather than remain with the beauty they once held. A world where everyone values the same things and desire the same things. Where the pursuit of truth is laughed at as being self-indulgent and riduclous but seeking an education to attain a high paying job in order to buy an expensive house and fancy car is the epidemy of intelligent 'goal oriented' thinking. Why is this world considered the ultimate in progress? Why do we consider ourselves to be the measure of humanity? Are we the sum of civilizations pursuits? For the sake of the human soul I pray not!
